Well Gillian just commented WYH is a spent force and LXR prevailed again 21-9 with a back hand smash to WYH's backhand, close to her body.

So it is confirmed that LXR is the better player and this will pose a huge headache to LYB whether to include LXR in CHN's Olympic lineup at the expense of either WX or WSX.

It also showed that Chen Xiaojia who pushed LXR yesterday is certainly another player to watch.

Do you guys think this is a fixed game? LXR 4th ranking is still not secure yet. LYB want LXR to lead as much as possible before India open where Saina will have home court advantage.

At the expense of WSX at the moment...and it appears she has a tough time ahead to impress in India...her draw is a lot harder than Li Xuerui...

How would Saina winning the India Open overtake Li Xuerui in the ranking ?

The only thing left for LYB to do is to test LXR in pressure-cooker situations, field her in crucial matches in the Uber Cup

Somebody is getting into hot water:: hehehehhe

[h=1]Lin Dan courts trouble by giving walkover[/h]

KUALA LUMPUR: Four-time world champion Lin Dan of China may land himself in hot soup after declaring he was injured and gave a walkover to compatriot Chen Jin in the Asian Badminton Championships (ABC) in Qingdao, China.
The walkover in the semi-finals paved the way for Chen Jin to reach the final without having to sweat it out.

Pengyu scored a first yesterday when he dumped compatriot and second seed Chen Long 17-21, 21-16, 21-12 in one hour and 17 minutes in the semi-final.This move will certainly brighten Chen Jin’s chance of winning the title against Du Pengyu in the final today and increase his chances of qualifying for the London Olympics.

Chen Jin is currently ranked fifth in the world and he only needs to move one rung up to secure a ticket for the Games following world No. 4 Peter-Gade Christensen of Denmark’s shocking defeat in the quarter-finals of the European Championships in Sweden on Friday.
A country can have a maximum of three singles players if all of them are ranked in the top four of the world ranking. Lin Dan and Chen Long are ranked second and third respectively.
If Lin Dan’s walkover reason is not valid, then the Badminton World Federation (BWF) may take action against him.

so if proven invalid and guilty, what kind of severe punishment will he receive ? Pity Li Yongbo and CBA got away with it but not the player..

Just look at the quality of the shots, the amazing rallies, the energy-sapping three-game encounter - how to fake that? And if you were WYH, the no.1 in the world, would you relish losing twice to the same junior and in front of your home crowd? Besides,it's not a must for LXR to win this match, there is still the India SS for WSX and LXR to fight it out if necessary. Furthermore,Chen Xiaojia was seriously trying to beat LXR yesterday. As if LXR hasn't got enough going her way recently, what with winning the All-England and suddenly in real contention for OG spot.:)

How many other countries' coaches would love to be in LYB's shoes, never mind the splitting headaches of how or who to choose. What an enviable position, making the coach more valuable as well.

Give his bum a huge injection so he cannot sit on his back for a few days and has to sleep in prone position. Seriously,it should be a fine and/or a ban from one or two tournaments(but not the Olympics).

The upcoming India SS will be WSX's toughest test and most important tournament in her badminton career. She will have to stress and strain herself to the limit, it may even make or break her. Either she emerges stronger or just fades away, assuming LYB hasn't made up his mind yet about the two i.e keeps his promise that both this tourney and the India one will help him decide, and to a certain extent the Uber Cup too. The Uber Cup is different as LYB cannot afford to field LXR and WSX all or most of the time, it depends on the tournament situation and the overall strategy, unlike the individual championships.

Seems far-fetched that LD will get in trouble for the WO he gave in this tourney. Why should BWF do something about it now? They never do anything about this matter. They said they'll investigate, swore to uphold the rules, that they took this matter seriously....blablaaa...Is it any different today? Nope.

Before this game LXR is only 703 points ahead. After this game, LXR is 2663 points ahead. This is the reason why LXR won this game. It is quite impossible for Saina to overtake LXR now. She has to win India Open to stop LXR......
