Hah, just watching the ENG v IND cricket 4th test match highlights from the Oval and just before lunch, one of the commentators mentioned LD defeating LCW in the WC final. Hey, badminton is going places!

They can view the gender from the profile. Anyway, what is the big deal whether male or female?

My sincere apologies to the above 3 members. Would have been easier to spot you of the opposite gender had your nicks been peacockfeather and pajamaswift. As for suet yan there is no excuse for me as the name already implied female but i have not seen much of her postings here lately so forgive me.

Less than 10% of our BCers are females?

    .
I agree. What is the big deal whether male or female? But I wouldn't be surprised that less than 10% of our BCers are females.

When I organise Badminton Social, Competition and Coaching sessions here in Australia, usually less than 10% of our players are females. When I attend various Badminton Club Meetings, usually less than 10% are females. When I look at spectators turning up at venues to watch at BWF tournaments, usually less than 10% are females.

So, can we summarise it that Badminton is a "less than 10% females" sport? :):):)

Remember when BWF wanted to make the controversial new rule that would force women players to wear skirts or dresses during competitions? I said to myself: This can't be right...... How can the 90% tell the 10% what to wear/do?:eek::eek:

Firstly to clarify, there is strictly no intention (at least on my part) to categorize or classify females to look down with any derogatory insinuations or anything related to that.

It is just that (as chris cc pointed out) the involvement of females in forums is highly low, or a sight for sore eyes if i may add (for those who might have mistaken me) because for once males (at least me) would like to have a second opinion from the opposite *** on these forums, more if possible because as you know, men are from mars and women are from venus; so it can be a refreshing point of view sometimes.

I think that should about sum up what i wish to convey.

Hahaha, I was just teasing when I saw post 720,723,724. My goodness, females are not so sensitive these days, if we are, tsk tsk, how to survive in the 'cruel' world.:p:p:D Of course, female members are less, but they are around, they just post less.

    yannie: Take care everybody!

    .
The most active female BC members used to be yannie. At one time, she used to post over 20 posts a day (CMIIW), giving us info.

    One of her last posts (on her last day of posting - 18-Jan-2009) was;

I am still in contact with her via Facebook, where she is currently active. :):):)

    So bring her back

So bring her back chris. Is she in hibernation from BC, retired from BC, refraining from BC or has divorce badminton to marry tennis?

OK, I shall contact yannie to ask her why she is not at BadmintonCentral anymore.

But why are you so interested in female BCers anyway?:eek::eek:

Well for one, let's rephrase that. Interested in female's point of view, not in females.

Secondly, with so many moron males out there, it will be refreshing for a change.

I am sure for many of the male BCers here, they are busy with work as well and that goes for me too. Well I won't call myself a fanatic but more like an avid fan. Fanatic sounds a bit on the psychological edge if you get what i mean.

Well this is where I have to give the gold medals to male BCers over here, haha.

I am sure many here are also busy, dedicated fathers with work and family to juggle. But we still find the time. So bottoms up (beer, wine, tea or coffee) to us all.

Not that we want to grab all the attention, come on females... bring it on again.

over the years we have seen members from either gender come and go. how are we to say that in a few weeks, months, years' time we won't lose interests and/or move onto a different stage of life? it is normal and just part of the circle of life.
