Why is everyone so suprised ? Cordon challenged Bao Chunlai at the olympics, and did ok, at the time BCL was considered an top 4 player, and was very good at the time. I have seen Cordon play before, and from what I remember he has a big smash, good defensive skills, and is very handy round the net. He is also quite tall (as is Chen Long) I didn't see the match (thanks to badmintonworld.tv not broadcasting it) but I did think previously that Kevin is really a top 20 player. Easily. If you look at some of his previous close matches, you can see what I mean.
nope, I was playing football (soccer) instead and also I can't view the livestream here I have seen him play before though I think he is still only about 24 so got a lot of potential. He plays doubles a bit as well, so thats probably why those are his main strengths. I wish nope, didn't pick him. He can be quite inconsistent, so if this was a second round match, then I might have done.

Unfortunately our 6 BCers who have voted for Chen Long (to eventually win this 2011 WC) are not here to support him; budibadibu, Cheetah, Isegrim, julianng, mcdogoo and Qidong should be well-shocked. .
