Agree. The best part is like he trains the players. Example : He mentioned halfway during the match asking FMT to play the rallies instead of going for the immediate kill saying her (FMT) has more stamina and power. Quote : "Play the rallies, you have the stamina" Unquote. How does he know that?!!!

The telecast just finished. It was so exciting. Much more than SS 'cos it's between nations. One of the best point was at 20-20 . Firda played a tumbling net shot, gliding down the net, FMT played another net shot from below the net that raised above the net but Firda missed a simple tap. Need real courage and luck on FMT's side.

Yup, mission accomplished even over the target :D
Quite similar atmosphere with WS Final, so close match at decider until 18-18, fortunately Simon could overcome his nerves and finished it :)

If I'm not wrong,John Burgess is a regular Table Tennis commentator, quite a good one;he probably understands TT better than Badminton, give him time. Maybe it's a last-minute arrangement,he wasn't given enough time and material to prepare himself. Just my guess,I could be wrong.

Agree with you, you are not wrong. He is either a TT or a Rugby coach, can't remember which one. You are probably still new here and haven't venture into the commentators thread.

Btw, did you watch the match on channel 5 just now?

I love JB and he has been around for a long, long time commentating on many sports apart from TT or Badminton, which he still has a long way to go in understanding baddy the way he understood TT.

JB brings colourful language to the scene and being English, we can learn a thing or two from him. To me he is part of the Singapore sports fraternity and many years ago he was coach to our Rugby team. Wait till he has a chance to commentate on Rugby and he will surely be able to demonstrate his verbal ability on the technicalities of this man's game.

All the best JB and it's good to have you around for so long!

Yes Li Li won a surprise gold during the Commonwealth Games in Manchester (?). As INA and THA are not part of the Commonwealth, it would seem less demanding on Li Li then although MAS and IND are members.
