I am also delighted that Hong Wei/Pan Pan lost. I thought they are one of the favorite to lift the title after the top 2 seeds withdrew.

As for Team INA, once again, Aprilia Yuswandari confirms her potential after she bowed out yet again in the first-round to Tee Jing Yee. Exit door for her from the Pelatnas!

Gebby Ristiyani Imawan/Tiara Rosalia Nuraidah also failed to progress. After their defeat in Kejurnas last week, time is also running out for Gebby. I personally think Tiara is better suited to XD as she did quite well even with different male partners in both AJC & WJC this year.

Anneke Feinya Agustine/Nitya Krishinda Maheswari also progress to the QF as expected after the withdrawal of the top seed. Another 3850 pts to add to their ranking pts. I believe they can progress to at least SF.

Aiyo, I think RR prefers to fade away and be forgotten but your doing so makes sure she will be remembered for quite some time, all the undue attention from BCers and who else(?) - as the worst beaten player on record, in both score and time taken?

Ahh, Derek Wong, who recently earned his reputation from having beaten Taufik, is now unceremoniously bundled out by an unknown Korean.

Younster Chen Xiaojia is in no mood to give senior Aunty Yao Jie any hope to have an outside chance of upsetting the applecart by at least getting into the semi-final - not impossible, remember the last time she was in the final of the Bitburger Open and lost to none other than Li Xuerui(my fave here).

Markus Fernaldi Gideon/Agripinna Prima Rahmanto Putra lost again at the first round of GPG tourney. This time to a TPE pair in 3-sets. A learning experience for them to prepare them for the more competitive MD field in GP & GPG levels tourneys. I expect PBSI to send them to more GP & GPG tourneys next year.

It will be interesting to see how Lee Hyun-Il,fresh from winning the Macau Open (should have "digested" Du PY by now:D), will fare here, esp when slated to meet Chen Jin in the semi - their last encounter I remember was won by LHL(correct me if I'm wrong);I don't see anybody else able to stop him here, Wang ZM perhaps?

It's also interesting to see Markus/Agripinna losing mostly to their seniors in previous tourneys:
Alvent/AG at the Thailand GPG (R16), Angga/Rian at the Indonesia SSP (Qualifying), Rian/Rendra at the Indonesia IC (SF), Kido/Hendra at the Chinese-Taipei GPG (R16), Bona/Ahsan at the Indonesia GPG (QF).

Only in the last 2 tourneys, they lost to foreign pairs: Chai/Guo at the Macau GPG (R32) and Liang/Liao at the Korea GPG (R32).

One more tourney for them before end of the year: India GPG.

Looking at the draw for WS now,the possibility of an all-CHN Semi-Finals is quite likely, with the two Koreans Bae YJ and Sung JH as the only realistic spoilers.

10 out of 14 INA reps progress to the next round, with 1 confirmed QF spot.

    MS R32
    Tommy Sugiarto
[5] vs Yim Jong Woo - Tommy should reach QF.

Hong Ji Hoon vs Sony Dwi Kuncoro [14] - I would like Sony to fulfill his seeding here.

Choi Young Woo vs Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka [7] - with Simon's withdrawal, I also expect Hayom to progress far.

    WS R16
    Li Xuerui
[5] vs Maria Febe Kusumastuti - the end of the road for Febe.

    MD R16
    Mohd Ulinnuha/Ricky Karanda Suwardi
vs Han To Song/Lee Sang Joon - as the only INA rep in MD, I certainly hope for Ulin/Ricky to progress to QF, esp after their disappointing performance in Kejurnas last week.

    WD R16
    Anneke Feinya Agustine/Nitya Krishinda Maheswari
    - free pass into QF.

Sun In Jang/Yoon Yeo Sook vs Suci Rizky Andini/Della Destiara Haris - I expect Suci/Della to accompany Feinya/Nitya in reaching QF.

Komala Dewi/Jenna Gozali vs Eom Hye Won/Jang Ye Na - I don't think Komala/Jenna can beat the more experienced Koreans.

    XD R16
    Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati
[8] vs Kang Ji Wook/Shin Seung Chan - a tricky test for Fran/Shendy after the unconvincing first round victory. I still expect them to progress though.

Tseng Min-Hao/Chang Hsin-Yun vs Irfan Fadhilah/Wenni Anggraini - luck of the draw for Irfan/Wenni as they avoided the second-seed in R32 and won their match as a result. Let's see if they can progress further into the QF.

Holy crap! Goh/Lim lost to a relatively junior Korean pair, Kang Ji Wook (19 yrs old) and Kim Sa Rang in three games!

That was one heck of a terrible performance for them as they are supposed to reach the semi-finals! Gosh!

    Their inconsistency is ridiculous :mad::mad:

So, it's not too bad today, on the first day of the main draw. Everything went smoothly.

In the PAW Game, I am happy to score 13 correct out of 18 entries. :D:D:D

Tomorrow, Thursday 08-Dec, there will be 2 rounds played in the Mens Singles, so that all players will arrive at the Quarter-Finals on Friday.
