Anugritayawon/Voravichitchaikul [3] clearly avoided the upset by defeating Kunka/Hogstrom 20-22, 21-11, 21-14. Let's see if Yoo Yeon Seong and Kim Min Jung [5] can do the same after losing the first game 19-21 against Shintaro Ikeda and Reiko Shiota. The Japanese are always dangerous!

Shoji Sato and Shizuka Matsuo just beat Vitalij Durkin and Nina Vislova 21-09, 22-20. That's 4/4 Japanese pairs in XD going to the Second Round.

Congratulations to Singaporean and Japanese WS players . Yes, Congratulations to Singapore and Japan. In Round 2 (last 16) of the Womens Singles, there are ; * 3 Singaporeans (Fu Mingtian, Chen Jiayuan, Gu Juan) * 3 Japanese (Kaori Imabeppu, Ai Goto, Ayane Kurihara) The others are; * 2 each from Germany, Korea and Russia * 1 each from China, Denmark, Malaysia and Thailand .
Hmmm....3 out of 3 is not luck. And 2 of them will probably go to QF! Must be a new coach and sports science working.
