Last night I am watchng first MD through Astro ! I can confirm CB was giving Thumb Up to the service judge NOT thumb down !

I watched CB/GZD vs CM/MB match a few times and think some calls were marginal. I noticed that Boe served a couple of times very high as well. I think it's a bit unfair to the Chinese team.

I think the main issue is not only whether the service judge is correct or not on calls on CB, but whether he applied the same standard consistently on both CHN & DAN pairs...

    Unfortunately it seemed not...

CHN has someone in charge of videoing live matches of their players' next possible opponents. Eg in SO10,'unknown' FRA MS Matthew Lo's match was videoed for his truly unknown inexperienced CHN MS who duly defeated Lo.

Only difference is now there s no time for rote training. Eg CHN WD can crush the strong KOR WD but lose one game to 'unknown' DEN WD.

For LCW, the one who regularly prevent a CHN sweep, CL was rote trained to perfection. CL is a perfect A student, definitely the coaches' favourite. Major leap in improvement from MO11! Magnificent display by CL. Luckily LCW now mature enough to think clearly and change the syllabus during play. Thank goodness or we will get a dread final instead of a dream final.

I did not enjoy watching the line judge call two high serves. That's not in the spirit of the game, especially calls twice in a row during the sudden death portion of the match. And a few of the other teams serves seemed high at times too. The Chinese team lost momentum. You could hear how intense they were (and probably frustrated) after drawing three match points.

Can anyone link me a stream? for both the singles and doubles finals?

Also didn't notice this but wtf, how did Chinese MD (Cai/Fu) lose 21-11 in first set?

When the match started, I was worried LCW might lose to CL, after the way CL KO PG. LCW-LD, that is a dream matchup with both on top form. In the past, I give 51-49 odds to LD over LCW esp in finals of major tourney, this time I say whoever wins the 1st match will win the title. It will be darn close, 50-50.

lcw must be patient to lift the shuttle high and not allowing ld to intercept again to crack up. Nothing to loose when the lift is high. He can easily recover. You will also notice that after each rally, ld will take a longer time to recover, this means he is tired, so just move him around and grind it. ;)

for kkk, need to win in 2. ;) Else, bogey...

Please don't walk lsly before winning... walk properly pls... lol. ;)

Well, we can't know for sure although your assertion is probably correct. In any case it's not necessary to blow this out of proportion

I didn't mean to imply anything on your part. It was the other poster who I thought got a little carried away

    .
True, I don't think CHN WS and WD players are used to the JPN style of 'in control' Art of Badminton. I predict the CHN players will start their games with BIG smashes.

    IMHO, the outcomes of the games would depend on;

    (1) How well the JPN players can defend/return the CHN smashes
    (2) How well the JPN players can disallow CHN to smash effectively.
    .
