chris, I think this tournament level is GP (not GP Gold) according to its total prize money US$50,000.

2008 Winner :

MS -- Andre Kurniawan Tedjono (INA)
WS -- Yao Jie (NED)
MD -- Fran Kurniawan/Rendra Wijaya (INA)
WD -- Lena Frier Kristiansen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl (DEN)
XD -- Joachim Fischer Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen (DEN)

Our very own bc member, nick smaling was in action yesterday in the qualifying round. Unfortunately, he lost. it's ok, nick. try better next time:)

My club's coach, Ginny Severien is also playing XD and WD... Any support is appreciated ^_^

This player - Taufiq Akbar Hidayat is certainly not the Sir Taufik I knew till date?? He is not Indonesian and has no seeding!!!!:confused:

He is Indonesian, but at the moment he's not playing for Indonesia. Obviously, he's not the famous Taufik Hidayat... :)

2009 Dutch Open: Congratulations to Olga Konon and Carola Bott !!!

Hi CLERY,

Thank you for correcting the info. I just took it from our BC Forum heading.
Perhaps, kwun can correct the thread's title and the BC Forum heading.

There are not many reports in this thread. Where are our Dutch BCers? :o:o:o

Anyway, from tournamentsoftware we've found 2 surprises:
Olga Konon and Carola Bott have both made it into the Womens Quarter-Finals Rounds.

Congratulations to Olga and Carola !!! :):):)
.

I'm going there from friday till sunday to watch all matches obviously, hoping to get on a picture with Uncle Wong

get some pics with the beautiful Carola Bott too :D

She had today a good fight;)
unfortunately the bwin cameras are so far away and thew video cannot be zoomed:(... so all the beauty was not seen worldwide:(
Beginning of the 1st game was awful (0-9, 3-16) but she came back and lost 1st only 17-21... and finally won:)
all the best for tomorrow also...;)

Today, Friday 16-Oct-2009, Olga Konon and Carola Bott have a chance to make it into the Semi-Finals. All the best to both of them.

Wonder if they will be playing against each other in the Finals.

2009 Dutch Badminton Open: Wishing Carola Bott all the best

I see Olga have the better chance;)
.
Carola Bott had a tough match last night, Thursday 15-Oct-2009, defeating Linda Zechiri (Seeded 6) with scores of 17-21, 21-19, 21-16.

And for today, Carola is scheduled for the day session. And she is meeting Larisa Griga (Seeded 3). Looks like Carola might be too tired for today's match.

Anyway, we wish Carola all the best.
