I agree. This loss just proves that even a great player like lin dan is still a human (he is for sure ) who has ups and downs. From the quality of his play after a big lead in the second set, he might be at his "worst", physically and mentally. He made many unforced errors, and then, seems giving up instead of continue fighting. I realise that for some of Lin's fans just like TH's fans, it's kinda hard to accept that their heros are humans. That's why lame excuses are always made to make their heros become like God. Well, one solution to make these fans feel better but still reasonable would be by seeing their heros as great humans with great technique or a lot of winnings (DOESN'T MEAN they CAN'T LOSE).
The only reason I see why Lindan Lost was Bao Chun Lai was the better player in the end... When there was no more fire power in Lin Dan's game(This was due to Lindan's legs were wearing out faster than his upper body). He could not do much else. Bao Chun Lai Matched him in all the other areas. Way to go Bao!!!

if BCL can be more aggressive, i think he can be much more deadly, its sad to see when he can smash, he chose to drop instead, it happen so often that i believe everyone can expect a drop most of the time. but then, he might need to work on his stamina to be able to go all out for 3rounds...
Why LD lost? My speculation: Remember one of the pics posted with his arm sprayed with some stuff? He had some injury, so less aggressive. Speculations from others I know also range from .... 1. TH chatted with LD on msn and agreed to both conserve energy and get into the finals in Doha. Start merchandising LD badges, caps, t-shirts soon. Let fans feel depressed for a while and give them a big surge of thrill when LD wins in his pre-determined victory at the Asian games so that LD/TH's joint-venture merchandise shops will have increase in market value. 2. LD had an aggressive night with XXF in their room before the match. 3. BCL wanna get into Finals to clear his gambling debts, so ask compatriot to give way 4. LD was offered a singing career by EMI, Taipei following comments from fans that he is the next Jay Chou
chen hong is often under estimated. Stroke wise, CH is better than LD, IMO. CH has very good records against LD and TH, so beating BCL is not that hard nor a fluke.
dun worry, i dont think Lindan fans gonna lose sleeps over this. LD is still young, fast and uninjured. LD fans aren't worry at all

you said it. after 17:9 in second set, i was wondering if the one playing against BCL was LD or not. that is totally not his style. only he himself knows what's in his mind. he surely loses some times; but not like that.

i think the two cases are different for LD losing to BCL, i believe most of us see it as indifferent, and to reflect the thread of why TH loses(but different in intention) if you look at the reasons(or excuses) we give to why LD loss, they are funny rather than serious do you see a reason why lcw or TH's losses due to their gf/wife demanding too much(shopping, time, or whatever you do at night, sleep or not) i would further saying that LD fans are less likely to immortalize LD than the TH/LCW's fans have fun
