I am so glad that Taufik won! Although I am a Chinese myself, but I am happy to see the more competitive badminton world than a Chinese dominated one! Go Taufik, go Lin and get him back on the WC. ;)

Taufik must be very happy with the results. He almost beat Lindan in the sudirman cup.. i'm sure he have learned his lesson on how to deal with Lindan.

It doesn't matter whether Taufik isn't Chinese. What matter most is that Taufik has perfected his skill to be admired by all who enjoy to his exquisite craft. No one should begrudge anybody for their achievement based on creed or natonality. The world will definiely be a better place if we all compete fairly and if we lose, let's lose with dignity.

I accede to your statements. Sportmanship and fairplay are essential in every sports especially Badminton, our favourite sports:).

Just in case you've forgotten, Taufik is Indonesian Chinese! :)

I saw the Taufik versus Gade match yesterday and was simply full of admiration for these two champions. Both displayed fantastic craftmanship, sound tactics, great patience and an eye for the kill. But Taufik seems to have that 'extra' and this separates him from many other greats. He has this knack for surviving and turning an almost impossible task to his advantage as shown in this match. His position seemed hopeless then as he was far behind Gade in the second game but he managed to claw back to win the game and match. Gade was surprised by his sudden bursts of brilliance and speed as Taufik began to collect points with his overhead smashes down the line and fast drives reminiscent of doubles play.

Talented Taufik is no stranger to Singapore and in fact almost played for Singapore more than two years ago. He was very popular with our teenagers and our badminton fraternity and would have been a great contribution to our badminton aspirations.

His win over Chen Hong in the Finals would be what most Singaporeans would wish for. I will be there to support him although I missed his match against Lin Dan in the Semi-Finals. :)

Taufik is an Indonesian Chinese? wow that's a surprise for me. he looks a little indonesian to me. but anyway i think the crowd also attributed to his win. Taufik loves noisy and supportive crowds.

Gade embraced Taufik despite his loss

I can confirm that Gade is a rare sportsman. Despite his loss to Taufik in the quarter-finals, he showed his appreciation by embracing Taufik. I've captured that emotional scene and others like Taufik being sprawled on the court in trying to retrieve a smash to his backhand. :D

Loh, are you sure Taufik is a Chinese?

Anyway, managed to watch the game in SIS. Such a great match and so happy Taufik won. Hopefully he can win the Men Single tiltle.

And also cheers to Chandra and Sigit and hopefully they can win the Doubles Title. It will definitely be a confidence booster for them before WC.

Can't wait to watch the games.

He is not a chinese. He is a muslim. I can confirm that, not by just looking at his face or eyes or etc.
