sorry for the confusion. It simply means Jiang Shu team lead by Lu Lan, WSX was leading Zhe Jiang 1:0 lead by Wang Ling.

Thank you Shifty for reading. Guang Dong has been a strong powerhouse of badminton in China since the beginning, when badminton introduced by oversees Chinese from Malaysia and Indonesia. All the Chinese from other parts of China learnt badminton from Guang Dong or Fu Jian.

From my personal experience, Guang Dong is probably the most popular place for badminton in China, there are lots of high level local badminton clubs too.

Here are the standings for each team:

    Men's team----Wins---Net Matches Won---Famous Players---Status
Jiang Shu ---- 4 ---- 10 ----Chen Jin, Cai Yun, XC, TJM *F4
    Guang Dong --- 3 ---- 5 ---- Fu Hai Feng
Fu Jian -------- 3 ---- 5 --- Chen Hong, Chen Long, Gong WJ, Guo ZD
    Hu Nan -------- 2 ---- 1 --- Bao CL, Zheng Bo
    PLA ----------- 2 ---- 0 ---- Lin Dan, He Han Bin
Shang Hai ----- 2 ---- 0 ---- Lu QC, Zhang Wei, Wang Wei
    Hong Kong ----- 2 ---- 0 ---- Hu Yun, Ng Wei
    Bei Jing -------- 2 ---- (-1) -- Du PY
    Liao Ning ------ 2 ---- (-1) -- Zhou WL

    Women's team----Wins---Net Matches Won---Famous Players---Status
Jiang Shu ---- 4 ---- 8 ----Lu Lan, Wang SX, Cheng Su *F4
Guang Dong -- 4 ---10----Xie XF, Zhu JJ, Zhang JW, Yang W*F4
    Hu Nan ------ 4 ---- 10 ----Tian Qin*F4
Hu Bei --------2----2-------Gao Ling, Wei YL, Zhao YL, Wang XL
    Zhe Jiang -----2--1-------Wang Ling
PLA-----------2---3-----Jiang YJ, Wang Xin, Zhao TT -- Eliminated
Shang Hai -----2---1 ---- Wang YiHan, Zhu Ling --- Eliminated
    Fu Jian --------1--(-6)--------------------------------Eliminated
Hong Kong-----1--(-7) -- Zhou Mi, Wang Chen, Yip PT -- Eliminated
Shan Dong-----1--(-7) -- Ma Jin -----------------------Eliminated
    Si Chuan-------1--(-7)---------------------------------Eliminated
    Liao Ning ------ 0 -- (-8) --- Yu Yang, Du Jin -----------Eliminated

    *F4 = (Advanced to Final 4)

Who's China's number 4 and number 5 after the 3 all mighty musketeers(Lin Dan, Chen Jin, Bao CL) ?

From the world ranking, they are: Chen Long and Gong Wei Jie.

From the players China sends to Denmark open, the answers are also: Chen Long and Gong Wei Jie.

Unfortunately, both Chen Long and Gong Wei lost today.

    Chen Long 0:2 Hu Yun (19:21, 19:21)
Gong WJ 1:2 Chan Yan Kit

Therefore Fu Jian, another powerhouse, lost to Hong Kong 0:3

other interesting matches worth to mention:

    Lin Dan 2:0 Wu Yunyong 21:15, 21:13
    Chen Jin 2:0 Gao Huan
Bao CL W.O. Chen Yu 11:5

:O He Hanbin has a twin brother!!! That's awesome. Imagine if they were both really good doubles players. That'd be a site watching them play in the international circuit. Or against each other with mixed partners :D The closest we've gotten to that would be the Sidek brothers?

now for the team events, the first stage, group stage is finished. Here are the standings after group round robin:

    Men's:

    Group 1:

    1. Jiang Su (5:0) Chen Jin, Cai Yun, Xu Chen, Tao JM(China master champ)
    2. Liao Ning
    3. Shang Hai
    4. Hu Nan - Bao CL, Zheng Bo
    5. Shan Dong
    6. Guang Xi - Chen Yu

    Group 2:

    1. Fu Jian - Chen Hong, Chen Long, Gong WJ, Guo ZD
    2. Guang Dong - Wang ZM, Fu HF
    3. Hong Kong - Chan, Hu, Ng
    4. PLA - Lin, He HB
    5. Bei Jing
    6. Hu Bei

    Women's

    Group 1:

1.Guang Dong - Xie XF, Zhu JJ, Yang W, Zhang JW
2.Hu Nan - no famous player
3.Shang Hai - Wang YH, Zhu Ling
    4.Shan Dong - Ma Jin
    5.Fu Jian
6.Liao Ning - Yu Yang, Du Jin

    Group 2:

    1. Jiang Su - Lu Lan, Wang SX, Cheng Su
    2. Hu Bei - Gao Ling, Wei YL, Wang XL, Zhao YL
    3. PLA - Jiang YanJiao, Wang Xin, Zhao Tingting
    4. Zhe Jiang - Wang Ling
    5. Hong Kong - Zhou Mi, Wang Chen, Yip PT
    6. Si Chuan

Only the team in bold advanced to the semifinals.

Now comes the 2nd stage, which is the knock-out stage.

    the draw for Men's team

    Jiang Su vs Guang Dong
    Fu Jian vs Liao Ning

    Women's

    Jiang Su vs Hu Nan
    Guang Dong vs Hu Bei

    My prediction:

    For men's

    Jiang Su vs Guang Dong:

last national game, Jiang Su grabbed gold medal and Guang Dong got the silver. Both of them are still very strong. This is supposed to be the final but unfortunately Guang Dong lost to Fu Jian in the round robin.

Jiang Su is strong in both men's and women's, and also strong in both singles and doubles. Anyhow, Guang Dong has its chance at Wang Zhenming and Fu Hai feng, these two guys are very good. Veteran WU Yuyong and Chen QQ could also steal one victory if lucky enough.

    Results updates:

    Men's:

    Jiang Su 3:0 Guang Dong
    Fu Jiang 3:1 Liao Ning

Jiang Su and Fu Jiang in the men's final

    Women's

    Jiang Su 3:2 Hu Nan
    Guang Dong 3:0 Hu Bei

Jiang Su vs Guang Dong in the women's final

Hong Kong women team lost again to Liao Ning, now Hong Kong is the one of two worst team in the knock out stage. Imagine that: with top player in the world ranking, Zhou Mi, WR1 and WR9: Wang Chen and WR14 Yip Pui Yin. Hong Kong is supposed to be the 2nd best in the World! , but in China national games, Hong Kong has to fight with fujian for the 11th place in 12 teams.

The 2nd best team in the world = the worst or 2nd worst out of 12 teams in a country
