there's still a huge difference between the giant 3 of China and the rest of players. Now including all the matches, team event or individual event, Lin Dan, Chen Jin and Bao CL are the only three players have never lost.

From the players China sending to Europe for super series, only 5 players in men's singles for both Denmark super series and French super series: Lin Dan, Chen Jin, Bao CL, and Chen Long, Gong Wei Jie.

Some people even suggested Bao CL's position should be replaced by Chen Long.

But from the national games results, both Chen Long and Gong Wei Jie did so poor. They lost so many times, to so many players.

Instead, Zhou Wen Long looks more like the number 4 for China. He won all in the team events and lost only to Bao CL in the individual singles.

Hu Yun even much better than Chen Long and Gong WJ. Not only now in the singles semi, he also defeated Chen Long in team event.

Even Du Peng Yu looks better than Chen Long and GWJ. Du did defeat CL in the individuals, and also had more closer loss to Chen Jin.

    women's singles semi:

    Wang Lin 2:0 Liu Jian 21:19, 21:12
    Wang Shixian 2:1 Li Wen 22:20, 15:21, 21:7

    now the final is:

    Wang Lin vs Wang Shixian

the same as in the China master if I remember correctly.

    Yes, you're correct.

Incidentally, the current top 2 poster girls of the Chinese national squad too! :D

Jiang Yan Jiao 2:1 Wang Yi Han 16:21, 22:20, 21:10
Wang Xin bt Xie Xin Fang walkover 18:15

    now for women singles:

final: Wang Ling vs Wang SX

for 3rd place: Liu Jian vs Li Wen

for 5th place: Wang Xin vs Jiang Yan Jiao

for 7th place: Xie Xin Fang vs Wang Yi Han.

Funny, I guess Xin Xin Fang probably retired during the match, I think XXF retired at the middle of the 1st game against Wang Xin. When the 1st game at 15:18, Xin XF finally announced her retirement.

Since XXF has already retired. Therefore Wang Xin and Wang Yi Han has to fight with a player who refuses to play because her retirement process has just been kicked off.

    Mixed doubles:

    Zhen Bo/Tian Qin 2:1 Shen Ye/Ma Jin 17:21, 21:10, 21:8

    He Han Bin/Zhao Ting Ting 2:0 Li Rui/Zhao Yun Lei 21:16, 21:14

so actually the mixed double is still the fight between 2 best men in the mixed: Zhen Bo and He Han Bin, even though they changed partner.

This once more, verifies my theory: men in the mixed double are more important than women. When I proposed this long time ago here in this forum, I was attacked by many people. But this time results at China national games, verified my theory once more.

the reason is simple, the man has to control and protect 2/3 of the court, while the woman only needs to take care of 1/3.

The best all around men double player should be Zhen Bo. He is now at the mixed double final, and also the men's double semifinal. He is the only man who could win 2 titles.

the best all around woman double player is Zhao Ting Ting from the results. She is now at the mixed double final, and also the men's double semifinal. She is the only woman who could win 2 titles.

Both Zhen Bo and Zhao TT have been hanging around national team for quite a long time. Unfortunately they fail to deliver something big according to some narrow definition (which means Olympics). But both Zhen B and Zhao TT have paired with many different players in different styles in both men's, women's and mixed doubles. They also have won a lot of titles from super series and 5 star open tournaments. They also both won world championships too, right?

I was wrong. It should be the 2nd game. Wang Xin already took the 1st game 21-13, and leading in the 2nd 18:15...

Wang Xin bt Xie Xin Fang walkover 21:13, 18:15

Looking better in one tournament does not make too much difference.
CL beat HY before, GWJ is just inconsistent and not up to scratch.

that's the reason, should let more players play the open tournaments, therefore they have even chances. Statistics only show that Lin, Chen, Bao are better than all the others.

    Goodbye Xie Xingfang

XXF retired in the 2nd game against WX due to her waist injury. :( I will miss the moment when she was on court. :(

oic. Seems like you are busier in HK than in Australia. Haha... :p Yup, hope he can recover soon. And don't know what happened to Chen Long, his recent performance has dropped a lot. Haha.. hope he can adjust accordingly too. I heard that some of the HK open tickets have sold out.

changes in over picture from 10th national games

From the current results from 11th national games, there is little change on men's side (both singles and doubles) from last national game which was 4 years ago; while big difference on the women's individual events.

    Men's team: almost no change

4 Years ago: Jiang Su, Guang Dong, Fu Jian got Gold, Silver, Bronze.

Now: Jiang Su, Fu Jian, Guang Dong got Gold, Silver, Bronze. Only difference is Fu Jian and Guang Dong switch places.

    Women's team: little change

4 Years ago: Jiang Su, Hu Nan, Guang Dong were top 3.

Now: Jiang Su, Hu Nan, Guang Dong gold Gold, 4th and Silver.

    Men's singles: little change

4 Years ago: Lin D, Bao CL Chen Hong,, Chen Jin, Chen Yu were the top 5. Hu Yun was the 8th.

Now: Lin D, Bao CL, Chen Jin, are still top 4. Hu Yun jumps from 8th to top 4.

    Women's singles: totally different

4 Years ago: Jiang Yan Jiao, Gong RN, Zhu Ling grabbed gold, silver and bronze. Wang Chen 4th.

Now: Wang Ling, Wang SX in the final, Li Wen, Liu Jian for the 3rd and 4th.

    Men's double: small change

4 Years ago: Cai Yun/Zhang Jun (gold), Fu Hai Feng (silver), Xie Zhongbo(bronze), World single champion Sun Jun got the 4th in doubles.

Now: Cai Yun/Xu Chen, Fu HF, probably win the gold and silver.

    Women's double: moderate change

4 Years ago: Gao Ling/Wei Yili gold, Zhang JW/Yang W (silver)

Now: most top 8 are almost the same as 4 years ago, but not in the same order! new face: Wang Xiao Li /Zhao Yun Lai are strong, either they or Du/Yu will grab the gold this time.

    Mixed double: some changes

4 Years ago: Zhen Bo/Hui Shui (Gold), Chen QQ/Zhang YW(silver). Xie ZB and Zhang Jun took the 3rd and 4th.

Now: Only Zhen Bo still there!
