I normally do not reply enquiry for Yonex racket purchased from eBay but phandrew is given incorect information to bobbinbette: According to my list Yonex rackets made in Japan, the cone code of 280283TH (date=28 Feb 2008), the valid shaft serial should be between 7486600 and 7488575. For the shaft serial of 7094167, the valid date code should be before 27 Aug 2007. IMHO, the Yonex ArcSaber 7 of shaft serial 7094167 cone code 280283TH is fake.
I know people who have bought rackets from Racketwise before and their rackets were real so i assumed it was real but since Leehsim says it is fake then i am wrong.
alright, based on the racquets posted in this thread so far, i have compiled a list of the most popular ones, as purchased by BCBF's members. 1 At 800 (Off and Def) 304 2 Ns 9000 (S and X) 280 3 Mp 99 (inc Mp 90) 257 4 At 700 (including Limited edition) 248 5 Ns 8000 222 6 At 900 (T and P) 218 7 Ti-10 (all generations) 186 8 Mp 100 151 Total 1866 this total represents around 65% of all the yonex racquets posted (only the genuine ones). i was quite surprised by the results, i certainly didn't expect the at800 series to top the chart. also, unsurprisingly, the stiffest racquets are all amongst the most popular.
please excuse the formatting, somehow it didn't turn out as nicely as i intended, but still, i hope it is understandable.
No offend but my opinion is that it is rare to have eBay sellers putting up legitimate Yonex rackets for sale. There is also no guarantee that every racket sold from a legitimate eBay seller is geniune.
and here are the top 10 country codes: 1 SP 922 2 TH 462 3 US 184 4 CH 180 5 CD 176 6 IP 175 7 UK 155 8 JP 148 9 TW 130 10 GR 83 Total 2615 unsurprisngly, SP codes are the most numerous, followed by TH. what is surprising is how close the number of US, CH, CD and IP codes are. only 9 racquets separate these 4 codes. again, this only represents the racquets that have been 'certified' as genuine, the total represents about 90% of the serials submitted.
i suspect my numbers will differ slightly from leehsim's numbers, but i think the statistics will still paint a similar picture. anyways, this is just for informational purposes and for those interested in such things.
For comparison purpose my list have 2557 item as follows in alphabetic order: 01) ArcSaber 7: 17 02) ArcSaber 10: 66 03) Armortec 300: 30 04) Armortec 500: 85 05) Armortec 700: 235 06) Armortec 700 Limited: 3 07) Armortec 800DE: 157 08) Armortec 800OF: 144 09) Armortec 900 Power: 85 10) Armortec 900 Technique: 117 11) Armortec Limited: 2 12) Carbonex 8: 2 13) Carbonex 9: 2 14) Carbonex 10: 1 15) Carbonex 15: 3 16) Carbonex 20: 40 17) Carbonex 21: 39 18) Carbonex 22: 1 19) Carbonex 23: 4 20) Carbonex 25: 7 21) Carbonex 10 Muscle: 1 22) Carbonex 20 Muscle: 15 23) Carbonex 30 Muscle: 43 24) Isometric Swing Power 500: 1 25) Isometric 900: 10 26) Isometric Ti Swing Power: 27 27) Isometric Tour 800: 3 28) Muscle Power Limited: 8 29) Muscle 33: 14 30) Muscle Power 44: 9 31) Muscle Power 45: 6 32) Muscle Power 55: 19 33) Muscle Power 66: 27 34) Muscle Power 77: 36 35) Muscle Power 80: 1 36) Muscle Power 88: 55 37) Muscle Power 90: 10 38) Muscle Power 99: 232 39) Nanospeed 5000: 3 40) Nanospeed 6000: 17 41) Nanospeed 7000: 99 42) Nanospeed 7700: 21 43) Nanospeed 8000: 230 44) Nanospeed 9000S:134 45) Nanospeed 9000X: 127 46) TI 3: 11 47) TI 5: 9 48) TI 6: 4 49) TI 7: 19 50) TI 8: 10 51) TI 10: 176 Now I know there are other members keeping their lists.
leehsim, haha, ok, looks pretty similar then. i think i have a few more records than you because i've included some ebay serials from reliable sources (such as tum98 and sumai03). although my records are from the very first post, including those posts which have been cleared in the past to make this thread more managable, i don't think it is as extensive as yours, i only record the shaft serial, cone serial and racquet model.
Just curious, are you guys also keeping a list of counterfeit racket serials as well? If yes, I assume they are in a seperated list correct?
Datas for counterfeits? Not logical i gz. The rule is "counterfeiters copy the real ones, not the fakes"
You're right kabayan. Leehism, i agree with your way of determining the authenticity of some yonex rackets. And that is, based on the serials and visuals by some members here.
Yonex NS9000S S.NO : 6412662 CODE : 160962SP Buying from someone in Buy & Sell Forum Price: S$180 Thanks in advance!
Not really, just for reference. If the counterfeiters went by that rule you mentioned above, then why do we see rackets with bogus date codes? (ie. 72 day/month, etc...)? They just make some random numbers.
