By the same token, badminton could be misconstrued as that gentle backyard pastime. ;)

I must say that the synchronized swimming and the rhythmic gymnastics held towards the latter part of the Games schedule were a delight to watch, especially the latter where the girls wore beautifully designed and dazzling uniforms for their routines.

The Russian lasses especially, enthralled with their skilful manupulation of their apparatuses, which included the ropes, the hoops, the clubs and the ribbons to secure first place.

China did exceptionally well to upset a few European countries to claim second spot.

A tribute to the girls and their coaches for devising such an attractive event and immaculate choreography! :)

How much do you know about: canoeing, equestrian, rhythmic gymnastics, synchronized swimming, sailing trampolining? Have you done any of those sports? Do you know if these sports require stamina, strength, technique? ... I didn't think so.

After completing their routines, everyone of the rhythmic gymnastics girls was seen panting for breath and perspiration dripped from their foreheads. Their dazzling show of skills, dexterity, timing, synchronization and agility, culminating with a smile on their faces, must have taken many hours to perfect - no mean matter compared to other sports!

Canoeing, rhythmic gymnastics and synchronized swimming all require a lot of stamina, strength and technique~

Tat's why I said equestrian should be taken out of Olympics~ cause the horse is the performing the act with the human just guiding it~

No doubt the training is damm tough but I still feel it's not a sport~ haha (however, this is only my opinion)

The subjective sports should be considered to be removed from Olympics.
    Gymnastics, Diving, Taekwondo, Judo etc..
CHN will not get that much GOLD medals , especially in Gymnastic & Diving.

I semi agree with the subjective sports, but Sailing is a staple of the games Higher, faster, stronger ethos. Unlike Horses, the competitor is the key ingredient. A racket to a badminton player is a boat to a sailor

Baseball and softball lovers think it is badminton that should be axed. This one is an example.

"One final sport to be axed: Badminton. No sport puts the “game” in the Olympic Games like badminton. Anything that makes pingpong look as tiring as running a marathon deserves a last-place finish."

    :(
Would anyone here make comment there to refute that 'sport reporter'?

I really don't like people see badminton as backyard sport.

We'll have to educate one person at a time. We should start with Mr. Jacob Carpenter :)
