I have an old racket Yonex Iso-77VF which needs to be restringed as the string is too relax now. But my question is - what is the tension I can do? Suggested on the racket, the Yonex says the tension is 18-20 pounds however does it seem to be not good enough?

Can I do over 24+ pounds as my other rackets usually are at least this level ? Does that sound silly? Am I going to take risky?

    Any ideas? Thanks.

I think 24lbs should be fine with a good stringer.

If the racquet never had a clash.
    1) 10% over the recommended tension is perfectly OK.
    2) Just like Phandrew said, 22x24 lb will be fine in a good stringer's hands.

thanks phan and silient. the racket had been used many years until last year when I bought some new ones. 77VF is a balanced but overall weight racket so I like its feeling of stroke and the solid quality.

I'll try to do it otherwise never can use it again.
