Watching WD: Australia vs. Japan, I noticed my second favorite female player, Tania Luiz, wearing a Level III knee brace. She could barely move. Does anyone know what happened to Tania? Did she seriously hurt her knee?
apparently Tania injured it pretty badly a while back (last year maybe?) and has been in 'recovery' for a while (in inverted commas coz she has been playing tournaments here and there during that period). i thought she was almost over it, but maybe it just flared up recently, and at the most unfortunate time too. how bad did it look from your point of view? i heard from someone else who watched it that she could barely turn to hit a forehand when the shuttle flew behind her. bad luck too for her partner Eugenia Tanaka. =(
It was bad, she could barely move and barely hit. The Japanese pair was quite honorable. After a few rallies, they knew they could win and didn't stress their attack on Tania that much. They still hit to her, not to make her seem out of place but they didn't focus on hitting to her. Initially, the Japanese pair seemed a bit frustrated because the Australian pair did so many flick serves.
lol well if you insist, i too must find a video of Claudia Rivero then haha. yeah at the Australian International a few weeks ago, Eugenia and Tania lost to a lower ranked (non-Olympic) Japanese pair quite convincingly. kudos that they would be playing a top 10 ranked Jap pair at the Olympics too. compound that with the injury, it's just hard luck i guess.
I did watch it for a tiny while but since the streaming was slow thru my DSL line. But on a few points, i just saw Claudia just simply return Pi serves by hitting them out ....there were never any pressure from Pi. So i would also demand an explanation from Panda to response to his statement !!! LOL
told you...panda is in love...........love does not need any explanation......Hope Panda did not see Claudia a bamboo......hehe
I trained with Claudia for 2 weeks. She is REALLY easy on the eyes, but her english wasn't so great, so it was hard to communicate.
