    I expected a close match between Maria and Shenck and it turned out to be one.Too bad, I did not paw Maria. Maria saved one match point at the brink of defeat, what a steely determination.

    I do not know..I am in LA....just talked to Lius...he said the crowd is quite packed...not 100% full yet.....

    maria frooze towards the end of the 3rd and saved a match point at full stretch with a crosscourt net. after 20-20 she remained calm with schenk hitting into the net of the serve and out.

    Maria really a fighter as she defeated Germany's Schenk in 69 mins with tight rubber games. Maria will face Yoana Martinez (ESP) tomorrow, huge chance for Maria to advance to next round.
