In the paper today (Edmonton Journal), there was a special Olympics section and it had all of the CBC and TSN live coverage and broadcasts times along with the events that will be covered. After scanning through it, i was sad (but not totally surprised) that there wasnt a single timeslot for badminton. Can anyone confirm (or hopefully deny) this?
yep, thats correct.. nothing in toronto either.. i was planning to just go over to a friend's house with satelite or something and try to watch it on msnbc

can you post the link to the internet webstreaming? i can't seem to find it in the cbcsports.ca homepage
Adding to this, here is the link to the schedule. Note, elderplayer's times are ET. Make sure you know which time zone you're in or you'll miss out. Click on "Next week" to continue. According to the schedule, CBC.ca will only broadcast the WS and MD finals. I guess we'll go elsewhere to find the other finals. Also, the broadcast is not necessarily Live. http://www.cbc.ca/olympics/schedule/weekly/2008/08/05/badminton/
CBC Olympics link Here is the link: http://www.cbc.ca/olympics/ When the streaming video is active, you should be able to click the CBCSports.ca|Ch x box below the match description in the Now Playing window to watch.
If.. ..the CBC webstream is smooth, i'd expect quite a few USA BCers piggybacking and watching some live streams from there..
US badminto fans will have plenty of badminton to watch on MSNBC as well as nbcolympics.com. Unfortunately for those outside the USA, e.g Canadians, whose countries will not be showing a lot of their favorite sports, nbcolympics videos will be blocked and MSNBC programming switched.
CBC Olympics link Actually, you have to click on the Watch Live button beside the match description in the Now Playing window.

Request CBC to Webcast Other Finals To all Canadian badminton fans: Please request the CBC to please add the badminton women's doubles final (August 15 a.m. ET), mixed doubles and men's singles finals (August 17 a.m. ET) to the video streaming schedule. You can send the request via the CBC website on http://www.cbc.ca/contact/ If there are enough requests, they might add these on.
How about we setup a gathering for the people in Toronto on the finals?? Maybe we can enjoy some wings and beers too. Question is where can find a good place that has satellite or good Internet streaming with big screen.
LOL I would be up for that...except it would probably be in the wee hours of the morning But hey, if some1 can make it work it would be pretty cool!
haha that's a great idea Wong8Egg, I'll bring my racquet to whack people cheering for the team I'm not cheering for
I am not sure what it is like to drink beer 6am in the morning. lol Hey, we need some suggestions for locations!
