I'd love to string it higher but the stringers around melbourne aren't prepared to string beyond 25lbs. I was actually surprised the place i restring at didn't string to my request since the owner was an ex-national chinese player. Maybe next time i restring i'll ask if i can stand and watch them string it to the bloody tension i want As much as i'd love to help boost australia's economy, i'm a poor student, my Arc10 and AT900T costed $165 AUD but from HK, so i guess i won't be buying a RSL X2 Gold here either
Franco if you ask Jacky he can string for you up to 30lbs. He did my woven 7 at 27lbs x 29lbs with no problem.
this racket power can reach at700 and at900p? cox im using at900p now...want to get another racket..dont know which one to choose..either at700 or arc10
Well... it is in the hands of the player... Personally, I can generate more power than the AT-700. One thing for sure is that it has to be strung at high tension. I tried the Arc Saber at 24 x 24 LBS and 26 x 26LBS for a few weeks and was very disappointed with its performance. I had switched back to my usual 28 x 28LBS (constant pull) and has been happy ever after... If you prefer head heavy rackets, add some lead strips on its frame, 8 cm at each side. Then... as you progress and get used to the racket, remove 2 cm each week. After a couple of weeks, you will be surprised that even without the leadstrips, you can still handle the Arc Saber like a AT-700... Thanks.
so it must be strung at high tension? btw im using at900p at 25lbs constant pull....will 28lbs too much for me?
HKChua seems inclined on promoting the Arc10 as a powerful racquet as you should've picked up from most of his post in this thread. Maybe when yonex puts Arc10 on their charts you'll see, Arc10 will unlikely be anywhere near AT900P/MP100/NS9000X or even AT700 in terms of power. While Arc10 is not a weak racquet, its not a powerful smashing racquet either.
Bao Chunlai and Peter Gade aren't exactly the world's most powerful smashers but they seem happy with it. However, Jung Jae-Sung can't be discounted - he is one of the most powerful smashers around ... and, yes, he is using the ArcSaber 10. Personally, I'd rate the Arc 7 over the Arc 10. But then, this is but an amateur's opinion
Hi Moggy, It is subjective and dependent on the user's style of play. When the racket is head heavy, it hinders you from swinging the racket at higher speed. With Arc Saber 10, since it is light, you generate more power by swinging at higher speed; by snapping it with your wrists... Personally, I love AT-700. I had also tried the AT-700LTD last night. Well... it was more powerful only the few smashes. After that, it will get less powerful because head heaviness is quite demanding. Altogether, I had purchased 12 pcs of the AT-700 (old model) and 4 pcs of the new model. Many of my team members are still using the AT-700. And... they had tried to use my Arc Saber 10 because they feel that I can generate more power than them. But... most of them give up because they felt that it was not their piece of cake. It is subjective, really... Thanks.
Moggy, did you try getting it strung at Box Hill? Because they just strung my racket to 28lbs, but it was an apacs one which said 29lbs tension limit. I think my friend got his AT900P strung at 26lbs there too.
Hmmm well i asked the stringer to string it to 27lbs at box hill, but it the sound is clearly lower pitched than another racquet strung at 25lbs with the same string. Its not so much i don't like the Arc10, the balance point is very similar to the MP100 which i've been using, and the power is obviously lower on the Arc10. I guess the problem is we play doubles too much here, smash power seems more important than manouverbility . As i said its still a powerful racquet, but misses that little "omph" of the better known smashing racquets u haven't told me how much is the RSL X2 Gold in HK
Arc 7 is more forgiving than Arc 10. all rounder and easy to handle in all type of situations. Gold again...? shall Pete create a thread for RSL X2 Gold review and vs all other rackets? predator vs everything
Try to delay your current timing by 'a bit' and hit the shuttle when it is closer to you, you will get the "omph" you want. Thanks.
Less powerful because you are tired already. But its true, At700 is a demanding racket if most of you who are not used to it.
Hey guys Arch saberes. I am thinking to string with Nbg98 or Bg 66 sharp on my next string. any of you guys have tried those 2 strings on Arc10? I am looking mostly on power/repulsion. pls share your opinion. Currently my string is 65ti at 27-29lbs.
