For those in Singapore and keen on trying out a Carlton, they are currently having a promotion on the following 3 models :

    AS33 - $159
    Powerblade 9500 Nano Lite - $129
    Powerblade 9902 - $199

All package include bag (6 racquet), shoes, socks and string.

I bought the nano lite and it is a amazing racquet, very easy to move around and defend with. However, if you love smashing, it may be too flexible for it.

    Hi Vince,

I bought mine from racket sports asia located at kallang leisure park level 2. The boss is John, nice guy.

Last I saw, the Nano lite is sold out and still 1 x AS33 and 3 x 9902. John told me that he is expecting new stock of nano lite next week I believe.

I am going down on friday to collect my free shoe as they didn't have my size initially, I can keep you posted on the inventory they have.

    Hi Teoky,

Any idea if they have 9909? How much is that? Also would it be possible to buy the racquet but don't want the shoes (i.e. charge cheaper)?

Appreciate you kind assistance. Thanks! :D

    Hi Vince,

I don't think we have 9909 in Singapore, only the 9902. The promotion is over as I have a friend who tried my 9500 Nanolite and love it so much that we went to a few places to try to get one. Finally found it but the promo is over so no more shoes, bag and socks but at the same price !

An update on the 9909 as I managed to find one in Singapore (probably the only one ? Can't find it anywhere else) and is now the proud owner of it !

    Weight : 85gm
    Balance : 280 - 290mm
    Tension : Max 30lbs
Features : Ti wire reinforced, nano resin technology, iso head.

The shaft is by Mitsubishi Rayon, and it is similar to the 9902 BUT the shaft section near to the handle has a woven section where you can see the clear carbon fibre weave and there's a "Woven" word printed there !!!

I did a side by side comparison with the 9902, the head of the frame slightly different, the 9909 grommets similar to Yonex MP in the sense there's bumps between the grommets.

Anyway, the feel of the racquet is different from other racquet, probably due to the shaft ? What I can say is that this is really really a sweet racquet to use for both offence and defence. I was using the Carlton Nanolite 9500, however the smash from that racquet is not strong, this one is definitely better.

Carlton really make good racquet, all the carltons i have so far, have not disappointed. Got a old AS-Ti, Nanolite 9500 and now the Powerblade 9909 and all solid !

All along, we have 9902 in Singapore but i feel it may be slightly heavy for me, the 9909 seems just right for me and it is after all the only one that i have seen so far.

The airblade 33 is very very light, 78gm if I am not wrong ? The Nanolite 9500 is almost similar specs (head heavy, flexible) except that it weighs 82gm.

I also saw a 9900 tour at the same store but the 9909 looks nicer, very cool paint work, the blue color actually is 2 tone at the top of the frame, at certain angle it is gold color.

I think another cool bluish racquet would be the RSL X2 blue.

Hmmm, the specs I give you is what I see from the racquet itself and I think I have seen the same specs from China sites also. The specs you give seems to be for AS33 though. None of the Powerblade racquets are weighs less than 80gm I think ?

Here's the link to a china site and as you can see, the specs you give for the PB9909 is the same as what this site give for AS33.

I brought mine 9500 Nano Lite at RM 240.

The boss of the shop, which is located in a Badminton hall, recommended strongly for this reacket. He let me tried his own 9500 to convinced me, as I wanted to look for other brand.

I must say the racket is really value for money, dont think you can get such good performance racket from Yonex at the same price.

Totally agree with the feedback on Nanolite 9500, really good value for money !

Looks like another fan of the 9500 ! Actually, a very close relative would be the Dunlop aerogel series. You can look at the 600XL, 800XL and the 1000XL. Similar in feel and specs to the carlton, in fact they are brands owned by the same company.
