I started on BG 65. I have no problems with it, except it looses tension so fast. I like it when it starts, but within 1.5 weeks it is soft and inaccurate and I have to wait a month before it breaks. I really like BG 80 as it keeps its tension but it breaks within 2 weeks. I'm too cheap for that. I know you can string BG 65 2 pounds higher and wait for it too come down to what you are used too, but that idea annoys me as I want a string I can play with right away. I am looking for a sting what is reasonably powerful and has good control characteristics but mainly I want a sting that will hold its tension AND will not break in 2 weeks. Ideas?
Try Ashaway MP its good.. Refer to Dink a lot's string review it can give you a rough idea on what strings you should try on..
what he said... I suggest bg 70 pro too... I just switched to it and am satisfied with it in many aspects.
BG68Ti holds tension well enough for me. only that i need to string it like every 3 weeks. currently i strung a couple of my rackets at 22-23lbs, rather than 25-26lbs. seems like they're holding out after nearly 3 weeks. less feeling on hits, but at least can save some money (hopefully)
BG-68 Ti BG-68 Ti is a good choice. Nice power and retains tension fairly well, and good durability. If you really like BG-80 (my personal favourite), just buy the strings separately and if you find a local stringer that charges around $8, you could be paying less than $15 per stringing which makes a bit more affordable.
Hey hunkajunk69... i can show you the Ashaway MP, BG70Pro and Nanogy 95 strings at badminton club today if you'd like.. Mark uses the BG70s and I exclusively use the Ashaway MP. If u feel like trying them out give me a shout.
Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to try BG 70, BG 68ti and Nano 95. See which one I like. From what I have heard BG 70 seems reasonable. I have 4 more BG 80 strings left so at this rate I will need new ones in 2 months...
DarthHowie. Wish I had read that earlier. There were no courts so I could have checked out string. Maybe next time.
THere should only be one place to look if you need to find your perfect string and that is in Dinkalot's string review: String Chart
Go with BG70Pro.... i've got it on one of my rackets and my friend uses it on all of his. It's a very good string, holds tension better than average, and better durability than BG80. Or try ashaway micropower, that's my favorite string, good feel to it, only broken it twice, but then again i use 23x25lbs
