They beat Henry and Gordon? Dang, Gordon made it to CCS last year too...

National High School Badminton tournament? That had either be a joke right now or it had better be VERY TRUE.

Wow that sounds very interesting .... any news update regarding this ? I know in So Cal every year we have this CIF-SS high school badminton leagues for team and individual which will end in qualifying to play in to the Championship Finals to determine who is the best team and player(s).

This Thurs will be the Finals for the Mixed Event, and continuing on to Sat, May 10 for Singles and Doubles. Every year the winners are still those players who train every day in OCBC almost 100% in all event. It will be quite interesting if the National High School Badminton Tournament could be carried out to determine who is the best of the bests from High School level.

    Please keep us posted !!

lol, boys singles is the most competitive division in ncs =P. in mvals, jesse wu was upset by derek chen

    singles:

    1. derek chen from JL high (from bintang?) sr
    2. jesse wu from mission (ubc/city beach) soph
    3. logan ye from irvington (city beach) sr
    4. dominic lim from american (bintang) soph

they are all solid B players, but not as good as top ccs kids

doubles is also pretty competitive, but i know mt eden has a decent boys doubles as well. dont know if you guys are interested in knowing the other mval winners

    High School All Star Team

    Hello all you BCers,
I just wanted to make an announcement about a very exciting event. The event is being brought to you by Bay Badminton Center, Orange County Badminton Club, Yonex Corporation and Asby Sports.
    The event is as follows:
Northern California High School All Stars vs. Southern California High School All Stars
The players will be selected in Northern California based on the winners of NCS and CCS. If the winners are not able to participate, then the runner ups will be invited to go. Southern California team will be selected by their own region. The match format is to be determined. The competition will be held at the same time as the US Open badminton championships.
    Yonex sponsored:
-Yonex will provide transportation and hotel accommodations for the Northern California All Star Team to travel to Southern California.
-Yonex will provide uniforms to all competitors (shorts, shirts and track suit)-North and South teams
-Yonex will provide all shuttlecocks for the competition
-all matches will have an umpire and line judges
-an awards banquet will take place after the competition to honor the winners
-a head coach will travel with the team
-Orange County Badminton Club will provide free tickets to the High School All Star Teams to spectate the US Open competition being held at the same time.
Please stay tuned. I will post additional information as I receive it.
