There's been plenty of discussion lately about the yellow and purple Ti-10s, and it sounds like those 2 rackets plays nearly identically. Now what I'm wondering is... how do those 2 compare with the original 1st generation Ti-10? I'm thinking about getting the yellow one, but it's hard to find one here in the US, so I can't really test it out before shipping one over from Asia.
I do know someone with a 1st gen Ti-10 though, so I was wondering if I can try that out to get a feel for the 2nd/3rd gen ones.

The purple has the best paintjob of the three, in terms of smoothness and durability. The old Ti-10 is head-heavier than the new generations. It is likely a bit stiffer as well. That's about it, I suppose. The yellow Ti-10 is made of HMG, while the purple supposedly is built of UHMG, like the original.

1st Generation: Hits bombs, power is amazing. One of the most aggresive and offensive Yonex rackets I've ever used.
2nd Generation: Power isn't as great. Much better manouevrebility(sp?)
3rd Generation: More or less the same as the 2nd Generation.

I still love the first one. :D

You should probably leave the first one out of this equation. They are extremely difficult to find, and even if found, can go for very high prices. You'd probably save at least $90 USD just by getting a 2nd or 3rd generation.

Yea I probably won't try to by a 1st gen. My dad has a 1st gen though, and I really liked it when I tried it, which is why I'm asking if the 2nd/3rd gen ones are similar. =P Sounds like they're not though, so guess I'll try something else. Thanks for the replies. =)

SOTX W11 is very similar to Ti-10 1st generation but with more power.

What is the colour of the 1st gen? I haven't hade a chance to see it and get a feel of it yet. I held the 2nd and 3rd gen and found the 3rd gen's head to be lighter. I have no problems getting the 2nd and 3rd gen as I know a few places are still selling them.

anyone knows the if ti 10 3rd gen g4 and g5 version which one better. any significant difference like g5 making the racket more head heavy? i got a g4 w/o checking. it keeps playing on my mind that g5 might be better and im getting abit regretful.

It's grip sizes, it doesnt' matter...just go play with your racquet and you'll love it no matter what, regardless of grip sizes.

For me,I prefer 3U 2nd gen ti10.It's easier to control, not too energy sucking even when i do continuous offensive play.Maybe that's also because i only have 2U 1st gen and 3rd gen,so i don't know how it would really feel if comparing all 3 gen's 3Us.

It does matters if he has a typical asian hand size and he got a G3.Or if he has a huge hand and he got a G5.:D

but the overall balance is off...

say a a balanced racket with a G5 w/o the original grip vs the same balanced racket with g3 with a towel grip.

the weight would change the how the racket plays...

from the translation in one of the famous chinese badminton online shopping site (bbeshop.com)

Ti 10 1st Gen = OK (head heavy)

Ti 10 2nd Gen = Best (the most head heavy)

Ti 10 3rd Gen = Worst (head light)

    how true is this?

1st gen Ti-10 is prolly the best rated... i dont like the 2nd gen as much as the 3rd.. i find the 2nd gen a tad too heavy..

    i own 3 1st and 2 3rd and had a chance to try 2 2nd.

1st gen isnt as head heavy as people might say but it generate alot of power. (all authentic and all 3U G4/5)

    head heaviness 2nd>1st>3rd
    stiffness 1st>3rd>2nd
    durability 1st>2nd>3rd
***Note 3rd is not head light, its more balanced.
