Hi Jimmy, long time no see! Suggest you should take at least a month off to recuperate. A week is too short a period to recover based on my own experience. On several occasions, I tried playing and hurt my wrist again after visiting my chiropractor and resting for a week. :crying:

Hi Bruce, interesting to note that you consulted your chiropractor. How effective has been his treatment for you? And do you need to visit him on a regular basis or just off and on, depending on circumstances. It is not cheap for each treatment, I understand? And how long (minutes) does each treatment last? I'm undecided whether to see one for some chronic joint pains.

    Hello Loh,

My chiropractor is a petite female sinseh with enormous strength :) I visit her whenever I need my wrist or back to be "fixed". I found her 'tui na' treatment painful but effective. Actually she was recommended to me by my Indonesian client who slipped down the stairs and hurt her back. Prior to this recommendation, I had seen a few sinsehs and even tried acupuncture but it was a waste of money and the injury persisted.

For a serious injury (as long as there are no broken bones), I might need to see the sinseh for at least two sessions. Depending on the severity of the cases, each session may cost approximately $50 and take about 20 to 30 minutes. I recommended her to a number of badminton players. Some found the treatment too painful to bear and didnt dare to go back :D. Some found the treatment effective, recovered and brought their friends along to see her. I'll send you a PM if you need the address.

Believe Mike know of another sinseh whom I heard is more gentle. :)

    Cheers

PS. saw this ad in the Straits Times - an 'ang mo' version of 'tui na' ?

Thanks Bruce for your 'petite' reply. I thought you were treated by a western trained and qualified chiropractor "Dr".

I think I should be able to take the pain provided it is well worth it!
Can she cure a chronic tennis elbow? Or chronic pain behind the knee?
