congratulations to WMC (and also to XXF who put up a very good fight). Congratulations to her coach who was very supportive and I think very brillant. Ms WMC is an inspiration.

The fighting spirit and determination shown by WMC is really amazing, making so many impossible shot returns! I told myself even if she loses we are still proud of her... mana tau she won eventually! Darn, made me teary eyed abit when she won the last point....

Good interview article in Chinese ...

    http://sports.sina.com.cn/o/2007-11-25/16393317556.shtml

Don't have the time to translate everything. Who wants to do the honor?

In a nutshell, she thinks her standard is as unstable as the stock exchange ... (good that she's humble even being touted by Chinese media as "the nemesis of CHN players"

Only feel like translate the final paragraph ...

When being asked how she and her boy boy going to celebrate if he wins (the interview was conducted b4 MS final). Buying gift? "Ha ha! That means spending money? Haven't thought of that yet, coz never thought I could win the title ... it would be best if I can have a holiday. Coach? Coach?" She naughtily turns her head away to look for her coach.

... ya, kudos to Tat Ming as well ... his protege has achieved something that he never had when he was a player.

A big congratulations to WMC, we now have a full fledged World Class WS player, 30 years after our last one (Sylvia Ng).

But this is not about winning titles, or beating all the best players on their home soil, or even going through the most difficult draw ever possible. It is mainly about working hard and not giving up.

When players maintain that attitude, they will get the breakthrough eventually, as did WMC today. Our other top sportswoman, Nicol David flopped in Asian Games 2002, migrated her training ground to Holland, and is now World No 1 and twice World Champion. Mew Choo's victory should give her extra motivation to maintain consistency and achieve future glory.

Hope later when someone has the time to translate cos the computerized translation was really weird, makes the article uncomprehensible.

    Good Job WMC ^-^

WMC performance in this China Open is fabulous. I was :crying: when she defeating my all time favourite Zhang Ning yesterday. But WMC proof that she has the 'X' Factor. Good for her, hope she will have more of the 'X' factor that she can show us.

Congratulations to WMC ;). I am sure the Malaysian are proud of you!

I normally only speak for myself but this is an exception...

"I am sure the Malaysian are proud of you!" - yes, VERY!

I just hope she can maintain her form and keep up the good job. You know we can be a bit jaguh kampung sometimes...

I am so proud of you WMC!! All Malaysian are proud of you!! You are the first foreign female player to win an open tournament in China in 12 years!! Except a korean did it in 1994, all open tournaments woman single were won by a Chinese untill this year. Bravo WMC. And most importantly the fighting spirit and sportmanship that WMC displayes throughout the tournament is exemplary! She is now a player that is feared by her opponents even the mighty Chinese team.Bravo!

I just checked. Tine Rasmussen en route to winning Japan Open WS, beat Xu, Huaiwen, Zhang Ning, Lu Lan and XXF, 4 seeded players, the current World No 1,2,4 and 7.

WMC en route to winning China Open, beat Zhu Jing Jing, Zhu Lin, Pi Hongyan, Zhang N, XXF. Also 4 seeded players - The current World no 1,2,3,5. Go girl! Rest your knee, keep up the excellent work.
