Yup, he looks furious.. I dunno why the photographer only took one pic.. I didn't take pic of that match hehe.. Anne & I were sitting behind court 3 among INA players who bullied us, and the match was played on court 1. GRR..
Rian/Yoke in Dutch Open 2007 Krisna, now that I've met Yoke in person.. I agree with you.. He's goodlooking.
It's strange that the Dutch Open winners do not get any medals/trophies Last year, it was the same thing. They only received cheques.
The next 4-5 years, we will see both pairs challenging Kido/Hendra domestically and internationally. Kido/Hendra (both 23 yo this year) Rian/Yoke (I think Rian is going to be 23 soon /22) Rendra/Fran (23 -- birthday just over a few days ago/22)
Wow.. ..that's some serious bending of the racket (pic #5 down, i guess he was preparing himself for a backhand return)..
Rian-Yoke is now ranked #38 in the world... after 7 tournaments and collecting 23950 points in the procesws. If they reach 10 tournaments with the same average points per tournament, they will be ranked #19 with 34214 points... I hope they will do well in Vietnam, Russia, and Italy...
Yes... Rian-Yoke lost in the Vietnam Open Round of 16 this evening... :crying: But Yoke-Mel is still playing in the XD quarterfinals tomorrow... Then, I guess Rian will be a tourist in Hanoi for the rest of the Vietnam trip... Actually, Rian better practice some more because he & Yoke are seeded 4th in the INA National Championship next week in Solo...
Too bad, Rian/Yoke exited early in Vietnam and only gathered 1920 points last week, which bring their total to 25870 points. Suppose the target points is 34000, which should be enough for top 20 position, then they need to get 8200 points from the 2 events left. They need to win the Italian Challenge which offers 4000 pts and then get another 4000-5000 pts from the Russian GP Gold, which means at least a Semi-Final finish We'll see how the draw will look like first. As for Rendra/Fran, since they are not competing in the Malaysia International Challenge, the target for them will be top 60 by end of the year, ie: 15000 ranking points. Quarter-Final and Runner Up positions will be expected of them in the Russian GP Gold and Italian Challenge.
I will predict that Rian-Yoke will be ranked 16-20 by the end of the year... They just have to work for it in their last 2 international tournaments. As for Kejurnas, this is their time to shine and impress the Indonesian public on their qualities... They might not win against Kido-Hendra or Luluk-Alven this week... but they can impress the Indonesian public on who's the real #3 pair from INA today [either them or Joko-Hendra] and they are the future #2 or #1 INA pair for the next 10 years... Automatically, their future commercial sponsors [be it Yonex or Carlton or Head or Babolat or Wilson or whatever] will want to see this too... Their future livelihood is always on the line...
Rian-Yoke will face Bambang-Trikus tomorrow in INA Kejurnas QF... I think they will defeat the old-lions and face Luluk-Alven in the SF.
