After reading all those yy Model A vs. YY model B. threads from users, asking for advice and comparisons between differnet models.. I get more and more annoyed...

It is of course natural to compare different models..
    But post like...
"Which should i choose NS7000 or AT700" etc.. is so utterly meaningless..

Comparing two rackets with similar specs (headhaviness, flex, weight) may be of interest. Even more so similar types of racket from different makers!!

But two completele different rackets (stiff, head-heavy singles-type offensive vs. flex, head-light, defensive-type rackets) are just a waste of forum space imop..

Would it be possible to "force" users to read stickys before posting racket comparative questions, to at least make them somewhat less meainingless??

Maybe I am just grumpy today..:) but it feels like these X vs. Y posts are flooding the equipment forum

I totally agree. In fact, next time when I see this kind of post, I will just suggest the most expensive racquet and get it over with. Since the person asked the wrong question, he/she should get a wrong answer back.

i think, i did mention this quite some time ago. just not so lengthly as yours....:D
but it is true. compare, compare, compare, compare....
i wonder  did those members post the threads for comparison, did he/she buy the racket? or just for fun? as far as i know, less than 50% only use the recommendations from forum to purchase.....
    ok, the solution.....
buy and use Victor PW32, if want to play like Chen Hong
buy and use At900T, if want to play like TH
buy and use At700, if you want to play like LD
wait for ArcSaber 7, if you want to play like GL...:crying:
    as for others too.....:D

X vs Y!!?? XX vs XY........ umm, been too long in the lab.....

Agree, in fact, there is no benchmark rackets anymore. There also too many variables as well, type of play, string, string tensions and so on. I remember in the old days, there were only like 2-3 top models which you can easily has a reference, say, Cab20 vs X.

But then, we just can't ask everyone here to try out every single rackets? Even we could, how about the human factor?

If someone wants to buy a new racquet to improve their skill, eg: smashes and clears, I think it's always the best to get a coach. Otherwise, they should just read through the racquet reviews instead of making a whole new thread, asking about x vs y.

That's what I've been noticing a lot now. It's really a problem cause they're pretty pointless and the OP's just create even more threads when regular members ignore them. I'm hoping that there's some way that new members, the first time they enter a specific board, a pop-up appears to tell them the rules and regulations on that specific board.

Piano wire and 50 lb tension. Why? because the racquet frame will snap if string higher than that.

I used to try to help by pointing out that either the comparison is "not comparable" or point them to a thread that have already discussed the topic in length, but I have stopped now. Partly because I am tired of repeating myself, and partly it's just too many of these being asked, and inevitably a new one will come out when a new model is released!

If this was a car forum, I bet we would have posts like:

"Which should I buy? A Ferrari Enzo or a Huyndai Santa Fe"..

"Nissan Micra vs. Mercedes S600" etc...

    :)

I find threads with reviews of one particular racket very useful, and comparisons between two versions (AT800DE/OFF, AT900P/T, NS9kX/S) also.

Comparisons between two similar rackets can be useful, but now they're flooding the forum :( .

Those comparisons will end soon because newer models are on their way. :D
