*nods* yeah... my whole toe nail just dropped off... and grew back after a couple of months.... strange thing is it didn't hurt, and neither did it turn black or anything...
The ligaments(?) or connector tissues(?) holding the nail to the toe will die off once deprived of nutrients (turning black from blood clot) and slowly shrivel off, hence the lack of pain. The nail grows outwards just like hair so the inner part will mature and harden, becoming the new 'hard nails'.
omgomgomg thats like.. actualyl happening to me.. =( THAT MEANS MY TOE NAIL IS GONNA FALL OFF SOON!! OMGGGG!!! :crying:
aww man.. it'll take a while =\ yeah so i can prevent this frmo happen...by cushioning the shoe? n makign sure it fits me right. n also make sure when i play i land heel first?
Sometimes it just happens - like mine. My toenails are sufficiently short and my socks fit snugly into my shoes with very little space to slide. I often tie the laces tight for better feel and it still happened in the middle of a heated rally. And I don't think landing heel first is the proper way to move either - you're supposed to be on the balls of your feet whenever you do any locomotion on the court.
what omg thats wut i thought too.. the balls of ur feet right.. like ur heal is never suppose to touch the floor or smth.. btu then like say u move to the front right corner n ur right foot is suppose to be ur last step right.. then wouldnt ur heel land first?..or is it still the balls of ur feet?..i swear i see ppl landing heel first tho..
ok random picture dont even kno the dude but heres a pic to help understand wut im trying to say? notice how his heel lands first
Caution - Landings Landings are quite the opposite for jumps and lunges. On jumps, the landing must be on the front portion of the sole... which is also the portion from where you actually propel yourself up. Landing on your heels could lead to several physical complications, and could force you to switch to playing bridge or poker or Halo or some other legless game. On lunges, the heel always touches down first (like the back wheels of an airplane)... and the front portion of the sole must follow immediately. Yes, immediately. If you tend to land with a thud or a plop, you're in line to develop a heel spur (which is quite painful) or damaged knees (much more pain) or both (time to order a wheelchair).
haha ya i kinda had that in mind.. but jsut was a bit confused.. still new to the sport thanks every1 for replying good luck to all ur toes! xD
swt-ness. haha. I hurt my toe before. hmm. a year back I guess. haha. btw, Iheard this story frm my brother. he said his friend. chased every ball. and guess what? his toe. da 2nd 1. da bone broke *ouch* m.c for like 2 months. and now he don't dare to chase every ball. if it's out den it's out. if it's in. den there it is. pity
Yes, it will grow back. End of toe --> End of nail The nail will grow in that direction as newer tissues replace the hardened ones. Think about your hair.
