BCL's jump smash has a quick drop point (hope u get wat i mean)... its not the same as FHF which is pure power One is better for singles and the other is better for doubles To say it, BCL's smash is like a sniper rifle, accurate and deadly, u dont know u got hit until ur head is meetin with the ground Whereas FHF's smash is a friggin nuclear bomb, huge range of damage, u know its comin but theres no place u can run to! Like my comparison?
double wow factor wow, the 2nd guy after sigit who able to jump so high. superb height!! marvellous posture !! i know the gal too, if not mistaken, she is the tallest women player ever, standing at 192cm same height as the tallest man player.
i lot of those jumps look incredible cos of the way they bend their legs upwards. if they extend the leg, it's probably on par with basketballers. photography skills and a lil' knee bending makes it look super-duper. but in reality, it's only a super jump lol
and non-pros who dont bend their legs so much may not look so good because they dont bend their legs, but in actual fact, they might be jumping just as high and just as well.
Purpose There is a purpose for bending their knees when they jump 3-4 feet in the air to smash, it isnt because it looks good. When you hit the shuttle your upper body lean forwards thus you need your leg to kick forwards as well to neutralize the force. if not you will face down and it will take sometime to balance back your position thus slow down your reaction.
This is the way to reduce impulsive force.The bended legs lenghten the time impact when the shuttlers landed and thus,reduce impulsive force.It's all about physics theory.
Fu Hai Feng is the best jump-smasher. so powerful. He holds the fastest smash record which is 336km/h. amazing speed! Lee Chong Wei is also good. However, the best backhand smasher goes to Taufik Hidayat. dont remember the speed, around 260km/h
I noticed that BCL doesn't has a very steep and accurate jump smash but I find he doesn't perform it often because he's so tall. Chen hong and LCW are the best. Watch the youtube video of WC 06 with Chen hong vs taufik, and watch how many times taufik goes to the right when Chen Hong's smash goes left. LCW just for he's crosscourts.
Taufik's smash is the best... His wrist seems to be reinforced with Kryptonite or something... See his Backhand Smash, and you will be gobsmacked If your Backhand Smash is crazy, imagine your Forehand.
