In my previous post, I just tried to clarify your previous statement. The 1-15 (actually, skip 8, 10, 12, 14 ) means the top (counting from middle), and when you say knot at 8, it's the bottom. I just try to make it clear to the readers, that's all.
Dodgy stringing job? hey guys, didnt fancy starting a new thread for what is essetially the same question. I just got my 2 of my rackets back today from them being strung. The stringing job in question is below: I dont know anything about stringing a racket but it looks as if hes left of one of the mains on the far left... compared to the other racket he strung for me: The rackets were strung in quite a reputable sports shop, and the guys been stringing rackets for quite literally decades. Is it just a mistake on his behalf? Would really appreciate any help. Ivan.
Top one is wrong and I will suggest you not to cut the string and take it back for refund or restrung. Good luck.
top one = mis-string... miss a main string a left. reason? 1. miscalculate, left n right not the same count. 2. opsss... not enough string... ehhehehehhe
I agree. It's very obvious he left out the last main on the left. They should give u a re-string at no cost.
Thanks a ton for the replies. I gave the stringer a call saying that he had missed out one of the mains on the far left. He said he may have left it out by accident as he was rather busy today and would be more than willing to sort it out for me if I brought the racket back to the store. He also assured me that the mains on the far left carry no tension and so wont affect the racket or the way the racket plays. Ill probably drop the racket off some time during the weekend of i get the chance. thanks again for the help guys.
it carries no tension? then why bother having the string? one string not too big deal, if u have 2 or 3 strings left off one side, ur racket could warp.
yeah, looks dangerous, the left side of the racquet would be weaker, so a mishit on that side might cause the racquet head to cave in ....
Now, i really wonder how "reputable" this person can be now. The last main surely should be tensioned, especially he's using 1 piece method, which means the right most main is already tensioned. Therefore, missing 1 main result in un-even tension, which in general is a very bad thing for the racket. Either this guy is lying to avoid responsibility (racket damage, etc) or he really knows about about stringing.
