    Hi all

I'd really like to devote more of my time to badminton, but I'm a little worried about the homosexual stigma attached to playing the sport. I have no problems with people of various orientations, but I don't want to be labelled at college.

Has anyone else experienced the same problem? If so, how did you get around it?

    Thanks :)

In germay, many people using a devaluating word for badminton. Its called Federball and means more playing in the backyard.

Also many people think "Every person can play badminton"

Just play a single against these guys and they will change their mind.

That really is strange to hear of people thinking of an association like that.

I wouldn't take any notice of it and keep on playing badminton.:D

its the same in australia... they label the sport as "easy" "gay" "sissy" "cock" "badminton (asian accent)" "asian sport" "asian" "piss" because they CHOOSE to. PREJUDICE. even though they never played it before, they choose to label the sport and the people who play it because other people do that.
they are the ones who don't know anything. they think its easy and all but they don't know s***

Many of these people think that tennis is a very complex and challenging sport.

Its a problem of elimination of their prejudices...

i always ignore prejudice and non-educated morons. if they don't listen, then let them be. badminton is my beloved sport. there is not one thing sissy about it. i m a tennis fan. comparing to tennis, i think badminton even requires more stradegy, tactics, and racket skill than tennis. modern day tennis is almost always about power over skill. federer is indeed a rare successful as an all-court style player.

federball is badminton as federerball is to tennis?:D

ya, i feel sorry for those ignorance people for they dunno what they're missing. Lobster at one time was considered a poor man food. If badminton is an asian thing, i hope it would become popular as asian food lol

    mmm, food, lunch time here:D
