Dude...you are living in the past...MAS today, like it or not, HH is still 2nd high ranked WS, until the juniors knock HH out, HH still represent MAS. As for Russia, India, USA, are not badminton superpowers...CHN, look at WS...Wang Lin and Cheng Li may not represent CHN with ZN, XXF, JYJ, WYH, ZL, etc. occupying the top spots....CHN MS look at ZZX and CH, and Gong Wie Ge cannot even make the team and resort to WD...yeah, HH may play 2nd MS for MAS, if HH is in CHN, HH may lucky to make the C team...INA, at present, there is no exceptional players after TH and Sony, therefore Sony can play until some junior take his spot...wake up and live in the present...maybe to much of polution in Penang poison your brain or you should change your racket string to red or pink!...hahaha! LOL!!:p :p :D :D :D

If what you are saying is the future of Msian badminton, then I must say next year Olympic gold or this year's WC is a dream. A wet dream for a dimwit like you  Embarrassing la to see such lame excuses being dished out.

Msia will never be able to produce decent players because underperforming ones like HH have no pressure to perform as the incompetents in BAM coupled with dimwit fans like you have no expectations nor any decent standards at all. You sad lot are just happy to be jagoh kampongs. And when there are no Olympic gold or WC titles, you just moan and whinge.

So do continue to take and live with your mediocre players like HH to the coming Sing, Indo , WC and even the Olympics next year.

Dude, much as I hope for MAS to win OLY and WC gold (which malaysian won't), it is near impossible to achieve, unless LCW can perform miracle in WC on home soil. How can I not cheer for MAS, being an ex-malaysian myself and my siblings still live in MAS? MAS will always be my second home.
"What I am saying is the current state (not future) of Msian badminton", we currently have LCW, HH and who else as 3rd MS, so live with that and support them. If malaysian cannot cheer for their team, the least they can do is not to bash them.
HH, as you say with his underperforming and mediocre play should be kept out of the team, that is doable if the country is CHN with plenty talents anxiously awaiting and many capable of knocking HH out of the team, but MAS does not have that luxury. In MAS now, who to replace HH after all, HH earns his #8 or #9 ranking, and is the #2 MS player in MAS, therefore until junior beat HH, then HH earns the right to play for MAS. Unless you are alluding to letting junior replace HH, let junior learn his trades as he goes along and hopefully oneday, junior would be great player. If that is so, Yellowstring, you are an idiot coach.
Also, your post comments are full of sarcasm and antagonism, to just about everyone, including Angelabty, Hans, etc....maybe Penang island is too squeezy, stressing you out...you need stress relief, suggest for your health and to chill out, visit the nearby massage...I mean the illegal type...hahaha! LOL! :D :D :D

Penang island too squeezy?? Dude, just because you are what you called yourself now 'an ex- Malaysian' no need la to look down at your own home country. Even though you are now living in Calgary, you are still a yellow banana. You are still a 2nd class citizen there. So, what are you doing there? I hope not washing dishes in some chinese restaurant in Calgary. :)

How do you know MAS has only HH after LCW? How do you know there are no potential juniors waiting by the sidelines when you are in Calgary 'kow towing' to the mat sallehs there???

As long as we keep putting up with non performing players like HH year in , year out , we can forget about developing or finding the next world beater. It makes better sense to send out more juniors in HH's place to compete overseas in order for them to gain the experience. However, such a thing can never register with a dim wit 'ex-malaysian' like you. You will probably beat an old horse to death.

The likes of you should fit well in the currently BAM set up.

Err, I don't know about OneToughBirdie, but I do find YellowString's comments offensive to say the very least.

If you want to talk about the state of Malaysian Badminton (I think you've got a few points there actually, complacency and all) then do, but aiyor why lah say things like "yellow banana" and "dimwit" and all...and don't say it's constructive criticism because it's not!

I think that's getting too personal lah. I mean if someone were to say such things to you, it wouldn't go down nicely right?

Yes yes I know, this thread is about Hafiz, sorry to have digressed.

Must say, I was rather surprised at the news too...have never been much of his fan, but as a Malaysian, I hope he will do our country proud with the remaining years he has left of his badminton career.

LCW has been known to perform in Malaysia. Yes he did stumbled out at this year's tournament but I think he'll come back big if the fans are still behind him. I don't know much about Hafiz so I will reserve my comments about him.

I certainly hope other players such as Peter Gade, Chen Hong, Lin Dan, Taufik Hidayat will perform well too at this year's World Championships as it was a bit disappointing last year.

Maybe you chose to ignore OneToughBirdie's comments. Thus I can see the double standards. Cant blame you if you have goggles on.

From where I'm standing Malaysia have plenty of "decent" players. I certainly wouldn't complain if Hafiz came and played for NZ! Seeing as you obviously don't want him and all.

Really?? Hokay, I think my specs need changing then... :D

As far as I'm concerned, everyone has a right to express their opinions. I don't sanction anyone's comments, but at the same time I don't think it's right to be so personal while putting one's opinions forward.

    I don't side NOBODY.

Hafiz has talent, but recently he seems to make a lot of mistakes, if he can motivate himself to practice more and make less mistakes, he can be a match for anyone.

    Hello YellowString:
Hahaha! Me looking down on MAS? My siblings and mom live in MAS, and I have lots of friends there too. Me and my wife do intend to live 4 months in MAS and 8 months in Canada when we retire under "MAS, my second home program", that answer your comments I am looking down on MAS.;)

I apologize using BC forum to reply to YellowString on being 2nd class citizen in Canada as I feel I need to speak up for Canada. Canada is a great country and has been extremely fair to me, offering me both a mechanical polytechnic education and a civil engineering university education for free, when I could not even get into MAS colleges and my parents could not afford to send me overseas. I love Canada and its people as much as I love MAS and its people. Today, I work for the Govt of Canada as a mechanical specialist, a job that would be tough to get in MAS and also doing contract work for private enterprise.:)

Bash MAS for no post-secondary education, no! Just that my high school results are not good enough to get admitted (during my time, you need 5 A's to apply/secure a spot in engineering school!) and there aren't "university twinning" nor so many university options as are there in MAS now!:)

To rest your concern that I may be "washing dishes in some chinese restaurant", well thanks for your concern. Me and my wife are closing in on our retirement plans...and we are doing okay. LCW made RM350,000 in 2006, I wish he makes more...his career is short, a fantastic humble player, trained so hard and open to abuse from fans and critics...agree it comes with the territory. I can tell you, I made more than LCW did, and I do it every year, much easier to do my job than LCW has to go through to earn his!;)

How do you know MAS has only HH after LCW? HH is world ranked 8/9, second only to LCW in MAS MS line-up, therefore HH qualifies for OLY and WC, whether you like it or not! Even WCH may not qualify for WC07 in KL due to low ranking. And there is no other players even close to HH that could automatically qualify.;)

How do you know there are no potential juniors waiting by the sidelines.
Maybe there are, but they would have to earn their way to gather ranking points to leap frog over HH and replace HH, there must be a system that is fair and acceptable to all! A discretionary call to remove HH would not fly with BAM, public and the politico big-wigs. If YKH does what you suggest, that would be suicidal for YKH's career!;)

As long as we keep putting up with non performing players like HH year in , year out , we can forget about developing or finding the next world beater.Agree with you and I am sure MAS fans would not tolerate indifferent play too. MAS should not put up with under-performers and under-achievers, BAM should demand honest efforts and excellence...well, look no further than CHN.

It makes better sense to send out more juniors in HH's place to compete overseas in order for them to gain the experience. Agree with you to send juniors to gain experience and exposures overseas, but until juniors beat out HH, say in national tourney, it would not be fair to dump HH in favour of junior. Also, the coaches would know when junior is ready for prime time, and slowly introduce him to the Opens.;)

I was in KL watching live TC06, I too was frustrated and flabbergasted seeing HH losing tamely to the Dane on his poor physical conditioning and stamina. I can sense you are frustrated with HH lackluster and indifferent performance in so many Opens, so are MAS fans and I too. Save for your harsh posts' comments, your english and grammar are well written which reflect on your education and your posts do have merits. While we agree to disagree in certain areas, I can sense deep inside you, you are a concerned MAS fan and want MAS players to do well.;)

My posts in this thread conclude here, no further comments...will chat with you on the next threads, am quite sure we will find something to debate, agree/disagree on...it has been fun and no hard feelings, till then...take it easy, cheers!!!:)

    Yo dude,

Judging from your extra long reply, I guess I must have touched a raw nerve there, eh? ;)

And on your comments about you making more than LCW's RM350,000 last year, what has it got to do with HH or Msian badminton??? But since you are on this subject, let me do the math for you RM350,000 is less than USD100,000. If you are making slightly more than USD100,000 or even USD200,000 (RM720,000) , let me tell you it is no big deal la. Tell you something .... I dont work at all. Thats all I will say :D .

Take it easy before you give yourself a heart attack. Chill n peace!
