From the pictures on in this post: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=510325&postcount=124 it seems the AT900T is less head heavy compared to the AT900P Can anyone confirm this? Also, the flex ratings on the sides of both rackets says "Stiff". Are they actually the same stiffness? Ants said the AT900T seems less stiff than the AT900P. Can anyone compare the stiffness and head heavy-ness of the AT900T to the AT500? I'm looking for a racket like the AT500 (head heavy and medium-stiff) but the shop near me doesn't see AT500's or MP88's anymore. Is the AT900T is less stiff than the MP99 and about or slightly stiffer than the AT500?
i must agree with HKChua. i'm a AT700 user and having since used the 900P, i'm converted. although i'm not quite there, it's just a matter of time that i'll be playing my usual game and getting the most from the 900P. i'm also thinking of the T..... sigh
I can tell you that the AT900T is less head heavy and much stiffer than the AT500, you will need more wrist power when using the AT900T, but you are rewarded with better net play. I'd say the stiffness is about the same as the MP99, but much lighter.
What a pitty you bought 4U AT900-T. According to Ants' oppinion, 4U AT900-T is not worthy to get. For most ppl in this forum, IMO, 4U AT900-P and 3U AT900-T are the best choice, just like AT800. For those who with good physical strenth, 3U AT900-P will be a good choice for them while it might be too stiff and heavy for others. Then who should get 4U AT900-T ? IMO, it is good for those who are suffering from injuries and other reasons. (They can't hit hard anyway, so power is not a problem)
Yes that is correct. Yonex US dosen't carry 4U's for the AT900 series. Yonex Canada does carry 3U but it is unfortunately it is only available in G3 (while they also have 4UG4 and G5) – it is disappointing that it is only available in that size. If you require like a smaller grip size(s), like G4 or G5 you are out of luck, you will need to obtain the racket overseas. I had expressed this to Eggroll, and hopefully he can shine some light for people who want 3UG4 and G5, Yonex Canada would respond and carry those who specifically want them.
I just purchased the AT900P yesterday and I must say that it is a stark difference from playing with the Nanospeed 9000X, which I have been using for 7 months. Clears with the AT900P are easy, but as Ants has said before, this racquet is alot more tiring to wield as it tires the arm alot and shoulders alot faster. Also defence with the AT900p is quite a bit slower than the N9k due to the inertia of the head heavy frame in each stroke . Playing with it yesterday for the first time, my smash was all by obsolete as the timing was a little off; being replaced by deep drives and smashes into the net. Ironically enough, I wasn't too surprised since this was the exact thing that happened when i first got my N9000x after switching from my Aerotus 44. Took a few months but I finally found the powerful smashes I'm known for. I'll need a bit more time to break this racquet in.
4U G4, 25 pounds, Nanogy 95 Also another physical difference that I noticed between the AT900P and N9Kx is that the AT900P has ~ 1cm wider frame width wise (~0.5cm on either side) and ~0.5cm shorter than the N9kx. Also no gunmetal livery on the frame.
i tried a friend of mine's AT900P last night. much better than the AT900T. the feel is more solid, has more substance to it. the stability and power are also better than the AT900T.
Agreed with Cooler... 1cm extra width is a huge difference... Even the old widebody frames from YY are only as wide as the current generation of armortechs & nanospeeds..
