Yeasterday the islands were levelled by a tsunami,

before you dig into your deep pockets and bleed your hearts,

the Solomom Islands are the same ones who last year launched an Idi Amin

coup and chased away all their ethnic Chinese bak to China.

I do not take pleasure in people's hardships ,it may well occur to us,

but when dispensing aid as for eg to say Ina think whether the people are worthy of help or grateful for the help.

Also try not to swallow government sanitised versions of events polished to
make politically correct. Idi Amin refers to the rascal in " The Last King of Scotland".

There was a report saying that the tsunami wave was as high as 200-get this 200 metres!!
I think one or two hotels were flattened as well.
As of the casualties, there isn't a fixed death toll yet, i think.
Wonder what has the world come into?
We are hearing so often news of such calamities in recent years.
    God Bless the victims.

I think you may have mistook a translation. This story:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/6516759.stm

Explains that Waves were reported 200m inland, that is not 200m in height.

The story says the waves were "several" metres high.

oh....confusion?? this is the effect of 3rd party communication.. sometimes, the mass media exaggerated a little bit too. for example, 5 people died, they will say as 10 people died. in robbery, $50000 stolen, they will report as $100000 stolen. this is done to attract readers' attention.
