Ok Guys so i have narrowed it down, to 2 rackets the Woven 8 and the Armortec 800 Def, now see i'm not sure which one to get, i used to have an Armortec 800 Def, and i LOVED it to death it was amazing. But then it broke :crying: Currenlty i have swiched to my back up racket, which is the armortec 500. I'm a pretty offensive guy and i love control with power. my style is moving my opponent to the conrners, basically tiring them out, then crushing the bird. I also crsuh the bird whenever i have the oppurtunity, but i also somtimes fake out and do back-court drops so basically i need a racket that deos all of that really well also it needs to be able to defend really well, because i've been known to get myself into some pretty bad situations lol Where i NEED some quick defence, the 800 seemed to do that amazingly but i keep hearing all these rave reviews on Woven's and in-particualr the Woven 8. So jsut give me your oppinions please, do i sound more of a Woven guy or an Armortec? Thanks in Advance Guys PS, if you have any other suggestions on rackets, it will be very appreciated
You could go with the AT900T to replace the AT800 DF. The timing could not be any better! Not sure if people actually "crush" shuttles in badminton. That would require massive shuttle replacements after the first time it is "crushed". It's "smashing"!!
Well, do you have any money restraints? The woven-8 is around half the cost of the AT900T so that might be the thing that puts you towards it.
Well, i do have cahs restraints, but in a way not really, all i owuld ahve to do is jsut save another paycheck, and wham there i go haha enough money for any racewkt i want lol i was considering buying off PuppySports cuz there sooo cheap lol, but i would love the Armortec 900, lol whens it comming out? also is it jsut like the Armortec 800 Def, jsut with improvments? and what kidn of improvments if there are any? and also how much is it?
I happened to have both Woven 8(a) and AT800DEF If you compare them, Woven 8 is very balanced whilst AT800DEF is slightly head-heavy. Woven 8 is also slightly stiffer feel than AT800DEF. When you swing the racket, you would notice Woven 8 is a tag slower then AT800DEF, probably because the latter's more aero-dynamic frame design. My personal thought is: Feel - Woven 8 > AT800DEF Control - Woven 8 > AT800DEF Power - Woven 8 < AT800DEF Defence - Woven 8 < AT800DEF If you like to "crush the bird" , I donot think Woven 8 will suit you as it is not known for its power.
900 is already out. I agree mostly with lunus's assessment, but I would rank the woven 8 above the 800DF in terms of power. The woven8 is also more err stable when you hit, less torque movement.
In Asia it's already out. The costs is like around 195+ CDN, something like that. For Canada and other areas this month.
RE:MATT: "Not sure if people actually "crush" shuttles in badminton." ----every heard of the "ALMIGHTY GOD---SIR DINKALOT"??? LOL....
So ts available in asia, and its comming out this month for Canada? lol alright i'm liking the sound of that haha, what i thin k i might do is get a woven 9, cuz i've heard its very smilar to the 8, and its also way cheaper lol, i've also heard its jsut liek the 8 jsut head heavier is that true?(I love head heavy rackts, but i need them to still be fairly light for defence this is what ttracts me to the 800 Def and 900 Technique) and ill probably buy that of puppy-sports cuz its really cheap there, then probably get a Technique when i can afford it, It will also depend on if i like the 9 or not. If i fall in absolute love with it, i probably won't get the Technique, but if i feel there are a few things lacking, such as quick defending and speed, ill probably get the Technique as soon as i can. lol WOW i sounds like a money waster lol...
urm, i bought the woven 8 a few weeks back.. although i have not played much with it, i think the woven 9 is more head-heavy compared to the woven 8. i found it substantially heavier when i tested it in store...maybe i am just weak ahhaha... i find that the woven 8 is very light (i think it is 4u), stiff and even balanced. i am basing this on my usual racquet which is a 3u mp99. the paint job on the woven is much better and i feel that the quality is a little better than yonex because it does not chip as easily but the mp99 has a special place in my heart for power .... i just love the booming sound from bg 80 and mp99 hehehe brings a smile everytime. hope this helps...
Woven-8 is 3U at around 87+-2 I believe. Not quite as stiff as the mp99 I believe, but still able to produce power. If you really want to produce power, but still have a moderate defense, the woven-7 might be right for you. Although it is a 2U racket, it is very mobile, almost comparable to to the at800de in terms of aerodynamics. It does however, take quite a bit of strength to use.
