I cannot help but notice that LWW/TFC retired after losing the first game to KKK/TBH. Is one of them got injured? LYB-rithis again or whatever-rithis?
When I was watching Live Scoring, LWW/CTF, was leading most of the time until the end. Maybe Rexy just told them that if they can't beat KKK/TBH in the first set then just give up so KKK can save his energy for the XD? I don't know, I'm just guessing.
We should wait for tomorrow's news reports to see what is the official statement. It could be a case of LYB-rithis, although a bit half-baked. As usual, can't be proved but if it is, it is a shame.
I wonder what all anti-LYB ppl will say about LWW/CTF and the Malaysia team. Dirty trick??? No way, at least they played 1 game.
I don't like match-fixing and i will be disappointed if it turns out to be true. But at the same time, i don't want any of the veterans to get injured again. They played well this time. Dont know which one should i hope for
Yes, its sad, the MAS WO sure looks like a tactical WO.. . Maybe they decided to play one game and the let that decide the winner.. Anyway I think these "team"-thinking is bad for the sport.. So Both MAS, and China coaches maybe needs to take one step back and think about the real values sport in general and badminton in particular"... /Twobeer
If I were Rexy, I would give the same direction or advise. This is not a local tournament, why waste energy fighting your teammates.
Maybe it's the players choice? Like LWW and CTF knew that if they lost the first set that there's not way they can win the game and just decide on their own to withdraw so that their teammate won't exhaust themselves. But what are the chances of that happening?
same can be said for chn team, but you guys just choose to ignore it see the bias against LYB? but then, there are way more ppl from malay/indo/sing than chn anyways and indeed, matching-fixing from players sound better than from coach only if its true though, i never suggest the idea of keep saying LYB or anyone's badword, some just like to keep it rolling and rolling... boooo
It could be but still, one can't help but wonder especially when CTF/LWW did not play that much at all during the Malaysian Open as they were elminated in the first round despite of being 3rd seed. I guess they didn't want to stretch KKK to a real match, may it be that they were injured or not, since KKK had a mixed game with WPT later that evening.
I have nothing against LYB. In fact I thought it was great that at the All England or some big Open that he invited a little boy to join the China. LYB even got Lin Dan to give the boy his tournament winning racquet. I don't see any other national coach doing the same. We're discussing how crappy it is, if LWW and CTF retirement is due coaching instruction.
I am glad that it wasn't match-fixing (Now i blame myself for not having enough faith in M'sia team) and glad that it isn't any serious injury. I was afraid that LWW might get injured again and it will be hard for him to recover at his age.
Stomach problem??? If you believe that to be true, then please make sure you don't question about Chen Hong's Waist pain. At least Chen Hong can wrap some bandits around his waist to prove it, but what is the M'isa team gonna do??? bring a bottle of pills???
I don't have any proof but Malaysia has not fixed any matches before, so i think i can believe in this. Wonder if you notice this, if Malaysian MD is playing against their teammates (This happens quite often, especially recently),they usually have a tough fight and need to decide the winner in 3 sets. The recent example is the match between Tan Bin Shen/OSH vs Zakry/Gan and the winner would play against the Danes. TBS/OSH emerged as the winner after being stretched to rubber set but lost to the Danes later.
We can debate whether we should against game fixing or not. But at least one should be fair. Twobeer is respectful. He is against game fixing no matter whether it is china or malyaysia. Same to lazybuddy. He is more tolerant of game fixing. And he does not defend the chinese team and meanwhile condemns the wo of CTF/LWW. so how about you virusvoodoo?
So does the Chinese MS, BCL just had a tough fight aganist CY and not to mention the countless number of times where they fight each from top to bottom. Yet people bash on the chinese when a W/O occur between their teammates. And then people suddenly become so understanding when it is occur between another nation? Where is this logic come from if not bias.
I am a bit tired about such "analysis" w/o any solid proof. I believe the "team influence" exist everywhere, just a matter of whether your team is good enough to have a chance to use it or not. Clearly, CHN has the luxury, as it's players (especially in MS, WS and WD events) have much more chances to meet their teammates in the later rounds, say quarter finals or beyond. Other nations hardly (or at least, much less) chances to even gain such chances to begin with. Therefore, here's the logic. If you know you have a good chance to go deep a lot of times, you might accept such "influence" and lay back. However, if you chance to go deep is quite slim in general, you might ignore such "advice" and fight all out, and treat this as your last chance.
