I am surprised it hasn't been mentioned here on BC before. Apparently a new Badminton club with 8 courts (I am not sure why I think it is 8, I looked at the website again, no mention. I thought I read it the first time) is opening in Union City,CA (SF Bay Area). This location is less than 10 miles north of UBC. So, on 880, you have Smash City in Milpitas, go north about 10 miles, you have United Badminton Club in Fremont and you go north another 10 miles or so, the new APAC Badminton Club in Union City. I haven't checked it out. A friend forwarded the info to me... fyi

I have been there for 4 times now.
They have 8 court open any time.

They might have coaching program coming soon.
Hope the coaching wont take 3-4 courts as UBS does.

i went there last friday and its looking good. the few problems there are is that the walls are definitly the wrong color, it can get SUPER cold in there. other than that its all good. oh, the courts are kinda close to the wall but i did check it out and its still ok i guess

Even though this may sound a bit ambitious, my friend and I were actually planning on opening a gym in Hayward when we grew up. But with the new opening of Apac Badminton Club, that dream (or goal) is now set back because of the various locations located in the Bay Area. Now I'm considering looking for locations down in South California, possibly to bring competition to OCBC. The best part? I want the gym to be open 24 hours a day, like 7 Eleven. :D

I think you should open a gym like in a little north of oakland perhaps, like richmond, jux a little north...... because like i notice a lot off ppl in those areas want to go to somewere close to them to play badminton. but aall of the gyms are pretty far away......

south san jose, cupertino and oakland/SF regions are the places without a permanent badminton gym. keep that in mind when you are about to realize your dream. :)

hey fremontJFKGirl .... how about looking further east .... perhaps in New Jersey :D :D :D. there is no single dedicated badminton gym in the east coast ..... you guys and gals over there in cali are really spoiled .... do you have the estimate on how much it would cost for 12 court badminton gym? ... a dedicated gym in NJ is way overdue .... :( :(

On east coast, we do have dedicated baddy gym, in Mass. ;) But I do agree, we do lack the gyms, be it private, public or dedicated, especially in the metro areas.
