i used to string my ns9ks wif bg85, 28lbs. but after playing for about 2 months, the string broke. i am a hard smasher, at moderate player. and now, i am planning to string it wif bg80, 24lbs, or would 22lbs be more ideal?
If you like 28 lbs, why not restring it at 28 lbs? Bg85 lasting for 2 months at 28 lbs is amazing. Bg80 should last much longer.
BG85 @ 28lb lasted for 2 months for a hard smasher??? Wow, that's unbelievable. The main reason I gave up on BG85 was due to the durability. BG80 @28lb should last you for quite a while, if things are done right.
absolutely agree... but in my experience that most string tension for hard smasher is at 25-26lbs (thin-thick string)
u can go higher than 26lbs at risk the string will broke often, the speed decrease, and ur elbow get hurt, but the sound when u hit is duaarrrr.....duaarr..... awesome sound but i tends to loose in many games, even i've played badminton for 20 years....
This is from another thread (reworded it to be more clear) but I'll post it here since would be considered applicable as well. For any player, imagine yourself on a graph on a curve. There is a certain tension range in the middle of the curve where you can be at your optimum performance. If you are out of the boundary of the middle region because your tension is either too low or too high, your performance would drop off.
Got mine done thise weekend, hand BG65 on it @ 24lbs Decided to try BG80 for a change, but wasn't sure about the tension, went with 22lbs, it was good, but I'll need to try it at 24 or 26
