different answer from different people is expected as weight estimate by feel is very subjective plus influence of top of string type & grip size. The definitive answer is to put the racket on a scale.

I tried a 2U MP90 with 26 lbs BG68ti last nite. I think that's the best non-defensive MP racket so far. It is more head heavy and stiffer than a SP 2U MP100. It feels very very solid. Sweet Spot seems to be the same size as MP100. Smash is very powerful. It might sound unbelievable but its smash is quite a bit stronger than the SP Ti-10 and TiSP SX that I have. To me, MP90 is a updated ti-10 with all the fine virtues of MP100. It is a hair less head heavy than Ti-10 and is slightly more flexible. Vibration is significant less. It is much more comfortable to use MP90 during double games. Control is just wonderful. Delicate shots' performance is very close to MP100's. Maneuverability is much better than Ti-10 but not quite up to TiSP SX. So far, this is very close to an ideal racket for me. All the things I wished from MP100, put them into a Ti-10 less the little harshness from stiff carbon shaft. I am suspecting that the stiff Ultimum Ti shaft helps in its smash power and damping. The other thing I notice is when I bent the rackets into the curve, Ti10 bents near the T and Mp90 bents near the middle of the shaft. The only thing that Ti-10 might excel is the feel. I am not too sure yet but will test it more thoroughly next time. It might just be a personal preference anyway.

Could it be that it's better because it's JP version? They sell JP more expensive right?

I think JP helps a little bit but it is overall a better racket. I can sense the evolution behind it.

How much does it cost you? It was supposed to be less then mp-100 right? Maybe it's just less then mp-100 in japan but still more expensive in other places because of shipping and stuff from japan...

    I highly doubt it..

Since, MP90 is JP version which is about the same as CP versions then MP90 would be heavier in 2U and 3U compared to SP, CD, US versions. I would say MP99 would be the same as SP, CD and US versions.

I've MP90 3U JP and MP100 3U TW. I personally don't think MP90 3U JP is heavier even though it gives a lighter feel - very likely it is due to its even balance.

p.s. After playing the MP90 3U for 3 to 4 weeks for every session, I must say that I really love this racquet. It gives almost the same manuverability as my previous favorite ISO900 SR CP, but have more power.

    Hey Ricky,
    How would you compare your 3U MP90 and 3U MP100? I like my 2U MP90 so much that I am considering a 3U. I like 2U MP100 but not the 3U. Should I get a 3U MP90?
Thanks in advance for the advice.

Can anyone tell me whether it is worth switching from a MP88 to MP90?

Pre-emptive, sorry to reply your post so late because I haven't tried 2U MP90 since a few days ago. In my opinion, if you like you 2U MP90 so much, you should stick with it.

While the difference in weight b/w 2U and 3U MP90 is not that significant, you should still find the 3U MP90 apparently lighter. The 2U version gives more solid shots but at the same time, having almost the same manuverability.
