    Lets playback old record :

    1) He was not at his best

    2) He was not sufficiently motivated

    3) He is on the road to recovery

    4) He has lost his power game because of some injury

    5) He has grown fatter since world champs because he wants to look bigger to frighten his opponents or deceive them into underestimating him.

    6) He has beaten CJ b4 so no big deal.

    7) If CJ wants to win so badly he should be allowed to win.

heh....at least this thread is more tongue in cheek rather than aimed at taufik-bashing or finding excuses for him. Notice the title ;)

PS well done Chen Jin, played maturely to finish off the match

He needs to stop losing and go on 25+ match winning streaks, then we will have "why did taufik win"....

taufik lost because he lost, as said, losing isnt everything, i thought it was already stated that his main motive was to gain enough ranking points???

so why keep bothering to question "why did taufik lost"???

why dont you say, "how did Chen Jin won ?"
or when will Lin Dan ever lose?

    Japan & Chinese Open losses

I have enjoyed watching Taufik, but seeing him lose the way he did at the Japan Open was very disappointing. Whether he lost his stamina, lost his concentration, lost his mental stability, he had no care about the fans watching the match at all.

Sure his ego took a bruising that Lin Dan has beaten him again, but that was no way to lose the last set by giving up so obviously. The first 2 sets were great to watch and he should have showed some spirit and fought to the end whether or not he had the energy to rally with Lin Dan or not.

I wish Xia Xuanze was back as no.1 - all these new players are arrogant, immature, have no obligation to the fans and basically play in their own little world. They need to learn sportsmanship and humility to deserve our respect, or in badminton history they will be remembered as players with talent but no personality or charisma.

    "tongue in cheek"....nevermind:)

i have to say you can't say "he lost because he lost"....i highly doubt that's how his coach will debrief him after any match.

Oh, for goodness' sake, why do we keep having these WTL threads? Stop this, people, just the thought of people putting these up is driving me nuts! Let's just set up a special website (www.whytaufiklost.com) and then you can say all you want over there.

This is a badminton forum, if you don't want to take part in this thread, then don't reply to it

i suppose saying that the thread is stupid is a way of taking part tho :D

anyway, not to go off topic too much...

but why were the first 2 sets so one sided? was taufik starting very slowly?

Taufik lost because Chen Jin beat him to 21 points in the 3rd set. It's as simple as that. :)
