Is it ever justified to hit a person? (If they don't physically abuse u first) Say, the person's a complete jerk that won't leave u alone no matter how many times you've told him/her to.
is this on the badminton court or just hitting someone in general? if it's the latter...there should be no reason for you to hit a female...unless your a female...plain and simple. In general, the first thing you should try to do is to politely ask the individual to leave you alone if it's the former...I'll hit anybody if it's in a tournament situation. During club play, i do not aim for anyone (in the head area - body shots is a valid strategy).
Who's is familiar with Canadian Crminal Code? Assault & Battery . . . Assault can be verbal. The person said, " I will Kill you . . . " Battery is committed when you get punched .
I prefer a sharp word or vitriolic wit to deal with people like this, plus a healthy dose of 'no interest' thrown in. To get people psychologically defeated is greater than any physical batterment. Unless of course you're in rage and you have a mission to help reduce the food strain on the Earth through selective population control.
The guy can be sued under intentional tort law. The verbal threat to hit you is an assault and shook you up psychologically . You sustained anguish, mental pain and lack of sleep as a result. With a credible witness, you can sue him for the amount of on court baddie enjoyment, in dollars amount.
If he was stalking and threatening you, you can contact the police. Please tell the police that when you try to defend yourself from his unwanted attention, he was threatening you with physical harm.
nono..he PROVOKED then threatened..after i told a couple friends that i wanted to sack him sharp wit is lost on him.
OMFG. The world has come to an end. I mean literally. Are guys evolving into people with no dignity and respect for other people let alone threatening to hit a lady? Filthy cowards. To confuzzeledfreak, you might as well just spill the beans on the whole thing. We can't offer part advice here and there if we don't know what is happening.
Am I right in thinking that you heard this from someone else and not from him? The reason we ask is that we all make empty threats that can be taken out of context eg "I'm so angry I could kill her" etc Maybe more importantly, if you don't hit him he won't hit you back? I knew this girl once who always seemed to argue with this guy I knew. Turns out that she really liked him and didn't know how to tell him. Maybe his attitude to you is a sign that he is attracted to you, or vice versa?
It's silly to retailiate. Just let the third pary - police, parents, or teachers, .... handle it. Don't get yourself into trouble also. That's how I told my daughters also when their classmate bullied them - don't retailiate, just tell the teacher.
And nick their sandwich during lunch. Everybody generally echoed what I had in mind - the wisdom of not responding in kind to avoid giving him more attention than he deserves. An angry response is akin to them being succesful in what they intended to do. I understand that being a saint can be quite impossible in rage but think of the consequences if you did. Often it's all about forgetting it and going away.
I agree with this. No response is more effective than any response in this type of cases. Once he finds out there's no more fun to jerk around, he will quit himself. If things a bit out of control, there's always parents, teachers and even security.
