It is the truth that asia are really strong in badminton but i think to make badminton more popular,we should give some chances to other countries to perform and show their talented espiacally the american countries.I wonder why badminton is not so popular in the american countries compared to the asian. So,we should give them more chances.:)

In the American public's eyes, badminton takes a backseat to

    Baseball
    American Football
    Hockey
    Basketball

These sports are often what American children play growing up and take precedence in interest when it comes to the sports stations. As you can see, these sports are all ones that are run and televised within the US... I would believe many Americans dont pay much attention to the international sport scene unless it involves their own players (ie Olympics), especially when there are so many sports to watch with homegrown players.

Americans need to give their badminton players more chances ;)

Ya,basketball are really really popular in america.Your analyse is correct.I think that every country have their representative sports like Brazil has football, american has basketball and the asian has badminton. You are right to say that the children in america seldom have chances to play badminton so they are unfamiliar with it.Actually,if someone can promote the badminton in american country,it surely will be very popular.

    Proposal

MVP 2006 should re-organize the matchup format, take the advantage of the players participating the event and form the equally strong/balance team from there. This event is really for fan so I don't think any one care about West beat East or vice verse. In this case, it would be nice to have :
Taufik & Jonassen in Group A and Lin Dan & Kalau in Group B, isn't that more exciting to have Taufik vs Lin Dan playing against each other twice potentially or put them aginst each other on Day 3 where more points are given?
IBF should also reconsider bringing back the Grand Prix Final as it's truely the best tournament in my opinion, I still vividly remember the match between Sun Jun vs Yong Hock Kin, what a show and what a sportmanship brought out by these two players. So many wonderful memories from the good old Grand Prix Final.

In that case, China is a bit over-rated. Li Yongbo will be a very happy man in the end. Not good!!!!!

I think it shall be Asia vs Rest of the World.

Kinda expected...nothing at stake there...so Taufik can afford to play loosely as usual.

In my opinion,i think that a professional player should be serious in every competition and not see it important. But i think Taufik didn't think like this lar, there are sure some factor there.:p

Its US$60,000 to the winning team and $40,000 to the losing team. I wouldn't say Taufik was playing loosely. He simply lost to the world no.4. After, the team of emms trampled the team of S lee. Hmmm, not as lop-sided as last year. Will be intresting tomorrow.

I just saw KJ -TH match.. taufik made so many unfored errors,
his game was mostly based on defending today, he looked very relaxed, maybe too relaxed wich might explain all the easy errors..
kenneth did great though, but im 100% sure we will see a totaly diffrent Taufik in Madrid.
