Lucky, the younger guy is in Hong Kong. And kudos to the young man for talking his way out of this siutation instead of resorting to other means. The older guy would probably draw out a gun if he were in the U.S.

That was funny... :) Talking about pressure. I do agree.. if its in America, it would be a different story. If the Uncle watches this clip.. he would be laughing right now.

Red, I agree it's a sad day if something like this can get on the front page of the HK newspaper. Perhaps it's part of a media campaign to emphasise community spirit - i.e. such behaviour is undesirable.

believe it or not. i was at the badminton gym last night, there were 2 players there wearing a shirt that says:

    "i have pressure"

    on the front, and:

    "not resolved"

    at the back!

So what happened before the start of the video? The old man was conversing too loudly on the fone and the young guy tried to quiet him down and then the occurences in the video began?

From the scene of the video alone, it seems the old guy stepped overboard. Lecturing on the young man about some manners is okay, but bringing in disrepect to his mother in that form is totally unacceptable. If the young man had a been a gang member or somebody a bit more volatile, the old bugger coulda ended as a statistic.

Also, talking loudly in public places like public transit is indeed frowned upon, here at least. One time, a girl was very loud on her cell phone and the entire bus ended up staring at her.

Ants, you must be referring to most of Asia. HKG is kind of different. It has a very western tone. Being older doesn't mean the younger person has to take it: in this case, a complete stranger.

No offense to the Hongkies, i love u guys and i know not all HKies are like this, but in general HongKies has toned down already. I remembered my visit long time ago.. it was a little scary especially i was shopping and asking to look at the stuffs.. most of the promoters are so rude. "if you don't want to buy don't touch" kinda attitude. But now.. all smiling face... greet you and all.
    Much friendlier now.
