strangely it looks better on taufik than the other indo player.. however i agree that sleeveless shirts look a little daft unless you've got the arms to show off.. hence it looking good on tennis players. from a usability point of view tho it's a clear advantage - nothing in the way of those arms, and perhaps exposing hot spots on the body (armpits) will increase cooling.. so it sort of makes sense. Coops
Well, why not play completely topless then? More hot spots exposed... I say: give them proper t-shirts.
Come on guys, for years badminton uniform hasn't changed. It's B O R I N G!!! I play with tank tops these days because apparently it's more comfortable (more ventilation). And hey, it's more entertainment looking at a more 'open' idols i don't understand the part that some said 'not suited' or 'not appropriate' for badminton. From which part is it not appropriate? The armpit notion is plain stupid, look at tennis players who have worn them for years.
i like both with sleeve and sleeveless.. i'm just glad they've taken the effort to change it once in awhile now... more exciting and more things to gossip about badminton which is fun!!
I wish the international teams are sponsored by brands like Nike, Adidas, Reebok etc for their team wear. Correct me if I'm wrong, most if not all of the international teams wear Yonex with the exception of France who is sponsored by Adidas. Its almost a monopoly. I have no doubts Japanese fashion is very trendy but I do not see Yonex team wear fashionable or trendy imho.
Blame the uniform! Now I have a theory why Taufik has not been playing well and that's because he gets conscious or feels uncomfortable wearing the Indonesian team's newly "sexed-up" uniforms. Remember that TH is unbeatable if he's in the mood and is the exact opposite if he's not. To better understand this theory, imagine playing while wearing something that looks really off like ..... a black fishnet top (just like Madonna's many years ago) or a short shirt that would show your belly button. Makes sense right?
