http://dev.revoke.ca/flash/badminton/ As in real life, the trick to successful shots is to get behind the bird.
I stopped at 42 v 2. 2 being me of course . It was cool, it gave me a sense of achievement doing smashes. Imagine if this game had drop shots and all that. Wouldnt that be fun ?
there is a really easy way to win points on this game! You can do a jump-smash as a serve! Jump up and hit the shuttle to the back of the court and the guy never returns it!
That's a cool game! It's singles, I've been playing for an hour and I haven't scored a point!! So it's just like real life
You can do drop shots, the timing is just very tricky. You can direct the target of your shot by holding a direction while hitting the bird. To do drops, hold the cursor left. To do clears, long drives, hold right.
heehee, the graphics is fun and the controls are simple, but... ...definitely the programmer do not play badminton and the rules are based on a mixture of other sports. Some things I noticed: - jump smash serve is allowed - serves over-head (not under-hand) - serves are not diagonal - all shots must be hit over-head (no under-hand shots) - the computer-player always returns your jump-smash (aimed for the mid-court) when you're jump-smashing at the front of the net - and specially, when the computer-player is forced to the back of the court and fails to hit the shuttle over the net, the computer rushes to the front of the court, gets a second hit, then it is a point and side-out for the computer! :crying: Lots of credits to the programmer for trying to create the sport badminton. Cheers!
Err...it serves to the wrong side of the court and it's very difficult to judge where on the axis equivalent to the player's left and right the shuttle is, because of the poor horizontal perspective (even with the shadow of the shuttlecock). It's nice to see a badminton video game, but I'm not sure that computer graphics will permit a tolerable level of gameplay for badminton, which is no doubt a significant reason why there are no major, commercially successful, badminton computer games.
