haha... u know what? i dont know y many ppl seem to think indonesia wont be making much of an impact. they've got taufik= who frequently does well in MAJOR tournaments, and 3 extremely strong pairs. ino ther words, they have strong first singles as well as first and second doubles.

as for malaysia, lee chong wei, if at his best, may contribute. malaysian doubles are pretty unpredictable as well. though hafiz has dipped in form recently, wong choong han may still be reliable-- though perhaps, not against chen jin, though.

as for china, they may hav strong singles (lin dan, chen hong, chen jin) but they're doubles aren't very strong. if any of their singles players 'tumbang', highly possible for the cup to go to another team's hands.

lastly, denmark. strong first singles. strong 2 doubles. sort of like indon i suppose.

    so overall=> practically unpredictable. :D

let's just predict the uber cup winners. so much easier to predict. whoop. 80% sure its china.

Chinese badminton coach names 14 players for Thomas and Uber Cup

The Chinese badminton team has picked 14 players for the coming Thomas and Uber Cup.

The other six berths in the team will be decided after selection games, said Chinese head coach Li Yongbo

The team, filled with the world's top seeds, is now going through intensive close-door training in southeast China's Fujian province. Team coaches said they have chosen the venue because the gymnasium here is very similar to Japan's Yoyogi National Gymnasium which will host the Thomas and Uber Cup.

The Thomas and Uber Cup will run from April 28 to May 7 in Tokyo. Host Japan and defending champion China have automatic spots in the finals.

7 players is the minimum right? 3 singles and 4 doubles players. They still alow 3 more backup players: 1 singles and 2 doubles. That makes it 10.

As for Team Indonesia, its more or less set, with someone else replacing Taufik if he can't make it. From the look of it, he will be in Japan.

    TEAM INDONESIA:
Singles: Taufik Hidayat, Sony Dwi Kuncoro, Simon Santoso, Markus Wijanu
Doubles: Candra Wijaya/Sigit Budiarto, Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto, Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan.

The only way Indonesia and China will meet is in SF and not before SF.

And I don't think we can predict who will win or who will lost before we can see all the participants list.

NOTE: In here, I mean is if Taufik will play for Indo Thomas team or not :D. If he play, there still a chance for us. If he didn't play, you know what it mean.

Thus far, i haven't seen any players that can really perform consistently,
therefore, making all these prediction is really meaningless, from my point.
To me, all those rank within world 20 is capable of beating each other, just depending on their form on the day of the match ... so the chance is always 50% - 50%, don't u think?

    Team Malaysia :???
Singles : Lee CW, Wong CH, Hafiz, Kuan BH
Doubles : CCM/KKK, Lee WW/ Choong TF, Chew Choon Eng / Tan Bing Sheng?

In fact, Malaysia can switch LWW/CTF to first doubles and CCM/Chew CE as second doubles. I think Chew CE/ CCM still quite strong and comparable to LWW/CTF.
