The shuttle was very clear "in", and you can see the face of CJ was very fed up at the moment (cause he reliased the shuttle was in). But when the cheating china line judge calls "out" CJ suddenly changed his face and went to his pack immediately for court changing. If you see the reaction of CJ, Even CJ also had seen the shttler was out.
So we all watch "cctv5". It's so stupid of them not to show the slow motion or from another angle. But I think it's in.
I've also tried but could not capture the frame and there was no replay. But I think it was actually out the back line.Opponents on the other side cannot see and always think its in, happens all the time. Shuttle is clearly out but not incase of Mia's matches against Xie. I think there is sth about Mia that makes people want to conspire against her and I think I understand it.
The 8th screen during cxydn's last post appears to be right when shuttle lands. From that shot, it is really not clear cut whether in or out. And I agree with Bbn that it actually looks closer to being out than in. So maybe everyone's all on a wild goosehunt?
ya, I agree, the bird was out----LONG----. I remember there was a call that favored Gade when the shuttle clearly landed IN on the back line and the line judge called it out. Instant replay shows the shuttle hit the outside of the back line. So I didn't see any favorites, the line judge is clearly incompetent. It's obvious that they were watching the match and not the line.
Chen Jin leads Gade by 7:4 in 2nd game The linejudge call it out. No replay. Compare it with the last one point in 1st game.
in my oppion it's really hard for players to tell wether his own shuttle is out or in, if you play you will agree, most of the time you just can't see it,expecially the back line. i do agree what candra did (anouced that his shuttle was out) was very very respectable, but not everyone can be sure it's out or in at everytime, thus it's not always possible for them to correct the linejudge. as to tell wether your opponent's shuttle is out or in , much easier, but not always easy too, sometimes the shuttle lands behind you(which is almost always true to me because of my poor footwork)
I think both of the line calls were out. But as kemana said, it's hard for the linejudges and the players and the referee to know wheather it's in or out because it's soo close that you can only decide if they saw it on the big screen (only if they to play it, or have an electronic machine thingy )
Human nature Dudes, the linesmen are not robot or something. They are human like the players whom sometimes hit the shuttle out or net. From the slow motion hardly i could decide the shuttlle was out or not. So come on, it was enjoyable game so dont worry about that mistake.
No, but they should be it was little sad that alot of misscalls (my opinion) was favoured to the chinese players throu this tournament. hope they will make line robets or something a very good idea ricksakti
I have to say from these angles you can only judge from the slow motion if the bird was WIDE. It is impossible to judge a whether the shot is LONG unless you view it from the other angle (down the line, where the other line judge is sitting).
From the photos, it's really hard to see, but unless there's REALLY clear evidence that a call is wrong, I'm with the linesman. I've been a linesman at some pretty high level tennis tournaments and the view from your position on court is far better than anyone elses. If it was a close call, one side of the crowd would agree with you, while the other side would be baying for your blood.
It was IN I had reivewed few times on the internet video streaming that I recorded and it was in, CCTV5 did not want to show the baseline reply for obvious reason. The initial reaction from Chen Jin also indicated the ball was in ... Not much for the umpire to overule as it was at the far end. Chen Jin was still the better player on that day though.
CCTV-5 has a consistent policy of non-replay of the video when the line calls are controversial, and they tend to be very efficient in this department. I'm questioning the wisdom of doing this as it gives the impression to the Tv viewers that CCTV-5 is "trying to hide" something. It might have been a small error of judgement on the part of the lines-person (which is the case as the errors are usually in millimeters and hence understandable), but the mere fact that you're not showing a repaly will surely make the TV viewers think that the CCTV-5 is trying to cover up a big line-call anomaly.
