I am personally concerned about the recent results of the Thomas Cup Indonesian team.

WHat has shocked me was the poor performance of my fav. player "Taufik".

However, I can understand that it was his first experience playing with the 21-scoring system.

Anyway, this is a good lesson for all Indonesian players and coaches.

I still believe that was not the real team yet.

The moment of truth remains to be seen.

Indonesia still has a fighting chance to win this coming TC at Japan. They still have good doubles and their singles are still capable of defeating good players. Any hiccup from other teams will see Indonesia goes all the way.

Does the format in Japan use the knock-down system ? or round-robbin?

To have a chance Indonesia must close ranks. It doesn't help if Taufik keeps having tantrums about the new scoring system. Team Indonesia must now concentrate on the new system, adjust their playing style if necessary, and move on.

lol, it may be off topic, but a famous fortune teller in indo once said earlier this year in her "annual prediction" that "one big athlete will suffer a poor career after he/she gets married", hmm,,,,

If Im not mistaken it will be the same format as the qualifying round in India.

I think Indonesia had a great chance to bring back TC again. Because I believe Taufik will play greatly when in Japan. Also with the participation of Candra & Sigit.
Seems like this 2 points are granted ....

Wasn't WCH's career also affected for a while immediately after he got married? Maybe it is a normal thing for players to lose concentration for a few months after marriage. Candra/Sigit and the other doubles pairs are generally pretty consistent and reliable. It is now a matter of Taufik to do the job and get the third point. Sony will have to be really on fire to get any points at all and I think we can all forget about Simon winning anything at all. Alternatively, PBSI can be really crafty and send Sony to the next two tournaments and let Taufik stay at home. In this way, Sony gets more world ranking points and get a higher ranking than Taufik and so Taufik will have to play second singles. :) This might actually work better tactically...

I think PBSI already though about this strategy, just like the last TC 2 years ago. However, I am sure Indonesia still can make it this year, if Taufik could focus on his games ,not the other:D :D

LCW and KBH both enjoy playing the 21 points system. They'll have the edge over Indon players
