Gripping rule question

    Is it legal to grip the racket with both hands? Eg: performing a double-handed backhand.

    May be ineffective(since I never see anyone do it), but being an amateur I find it much easier...

    even "if" its illegal. i think your opponent will let you off the hook anyway :p.
    im not sure of the rule myself. im an amateur too :D and everybody let me off the hook for any rule mistakes .:eek::Dlol

    Interesting question. For now it may be easier to hit a backhand with two hands but that's bad practice. You should focus on learning a backhand with one hand. It'll benefit you in the long run. :)

    there is no rule that specifies how many hands are allowed on the racquet. this is a similar question to ambidextrous players who switch hands during rally. the question that is more important for the player is how effective is the two handed stroke. your opponent would be more than willing to allow such a stroke since there is only a limited number of shots can be generated with a two hand grip, and they can prepare for your shot much easier.

    yeah but how much time do you have to prepare your other hand onto the racquet in order to set up the shot?
