Since when does a SF match against the All England champion constitute "a clear path to the final"? I mean, granted, Gade leads the head-to-head race 7-1 but they've only played once in the past year.

An expected win...but definitely the Indo pair is closing the gap with the top pairs now. With the quarter-final placing, they should be in the top 20s with a possibility of breaking into the top 10 by mid next year. Except the top 5 pair, they should be on pair with the other top 10 players like Saralee/Satinee, Emms/Kellogg, Wong/Chin, and Jiang/Li.

Despite loss, Chonn Hann is still my idol

It's very heart-broken to see how Choon Hann managed to lost the games to Chen Jin. There were plenty of opportunities for Choon Hann but he did not capitalize it, way too many unforce errors even with the wide open court when Chen Jin was out of position yet Choon Hann managed to hit to the net or hit the bird wide. All came at the crucial moment. Choon Hann also dug himself into a deep hole in early game 1 by trailing big margin then gradually crawled back to made the game close but lost 13-15.
No doubt Chen Jin will be very good in years to come but Choon Hann should have upper hand at this stage of his career against him ... I still like Choon Hann because he has good sportmanship as the Chinese commentators mentioned during the games, the only funny thing was these two commentators were trying hard to name European players that have poor sportmanship but failed to produce one. Why even go that far? Local hero Lin Dan is one vivid example of that :)

headcoach for mens single thomas stuer lauridsen metioned last monday that the danish and malaysian shuttlers only were given one court to train on each, where the chinese shuttlers had a lot of courts. one court for 20-25 players :( thats not fair and only further gives an indication that the chinese not always are known for having great sportmanship. to much patriosm doesnt go the right way
